The LA28 Visa Presale opened yesterday and closes tomorrow, so if you want a shot at Drop 2 Olympic tickets before the general public, you need to check your inbox today.

Here's what's happening. In honor of Visa's 40-year Olympic partnership, LA28 is running a Visa Presale window for qualifying Visa cardholders from July 29 through July 31, giving them early access to Drop 2 ticket inventory across every Olympic sport before those tickets go to the general public in August. If you registered for the Visa Presale Draw and were selected, you should have already received your time slot notification on July 27, and your window is open right now. LA 2028LA 2028

Who qualifies. You needed an active Visa card in good standing as of June 1, 2026 to opt into the draw, and registration for that draw closed back on July 22. If you didn't register in time, there's nothing to do here today, but don't panic. This isn't your only shot. LA28

The backup plan matters more than the presale. Visa is the exclusive payment method during this presale window, so if you're not selected or missed registration, Drop 2 opens to everyone August 10-20, offering tickets across all sports and price points, with roughly 95% of Drop 1 tickets priced under $100. If you don't receive a Visa Presale time slot, you're automatically entered into the Drop 2 draw, with notifications going out August 6-7. X + 3

What to do right now if you're in the presale window. Log into your LA28 account, browse inventory across price points, and complete your purchase before your 48-hour slot expires. Have a Visa card ready as your payment method since no other card type works during this window.

If you're eyeing Drop 2 instead, this is a good moment to make sure you're carrying a Visa card that also earns solid travel rewards, since you'll want points for the flights and hotel that come with an LA trip. The Chase Sapphire Preferred is a Visa Signature card that earns 5x points on travel booked through Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Ultimate Rewards points transfer to airline and hotel partners that can offset the cost of getting to LA. If you're still deciding which Chase card to get first, an LA28 trip is as good a reason as any to lock one in before August.

We'll keep watching for Drop 2 details and update this post as soon as time slots go out in early August. This article contains affiliate links.
