Japan Airlines is offering select JAL Mileage Bank members up to 10,000 bonus miles per segment on eligible flights from the continental U.S. to Japan. Registration runs through December 31, 2026, and travel counts from October 1, 2026 to March 4, 2027. The offer is targeted: JAL says it's only for pre-selected members who received the promotional message, so make sure you got it before you plan around it.
Deal Details
JAL pays the bonus by cabin, for each eligible one-way segment flown:
- Business Class: 10,000 bonus miles
- Premium Economy: 5,000 bonus miles
- Economy: 2,500 bonus miles
The dates, from JAL's promotion page:
- Registration: September 29 to December 31, 2026
- Travel: October 1, 2026 to March 4, 2027, counted by the date you fly
You have to register before your flight departs; flights taken before you register don't earn the bonus. JAL's page tells members to book directly on its American Region website. The bonus miles don't count toward FLY ON Points, JMB tier status or Life Status points, and JAL says the offer can change or end without notice.

JAL's page describes the bonus as applying to eligible flights to Japan from the continental U.S. If you're counting on the bonus for your return flight, confirm it with JAL before you book.
How to Take Advantage
- Make sure you received JAL's invitation. JAL says the offer is non-transferable and valid only for the member it was sent to.
- Register on JAL's promotion page: click "Register for promotion now" and log in with your JMB number and password. Logging in completes the registration.
- Book an eligible flight from the list above on JAL's American Region website.
- Fly by March 4, 2027. JAL credits the bonus automatically along with your flight miles.
Why This Deal Matters
If you're already flying JAL to Japan this winter on a paid ticket, this is extra miles for one login. Say you fly one business class segment on an eligible flight: that's 10,000 bonus miles on top of what the flight itself earns. The payout drops sharply by cabin, so the offer means the most to business class travelers.
It doesn't help with status. Elite chasers get nothing toward tier qualification from these miles.
