About Citi ThankYou Points

Citi publishes its transfer ratios in public, on the Points Transfer listing: each of the eighteen partner tiles expands, signed out, to print two rates. Which one applies depends on the card. Citi Strata Elite, Citi Strata Premier, Prestige and AT&T Access More get the full rate; every other ThankYou card — ThankYou Preferred, Citi Strata, Double Cash, Custom Cash, the Citi ThankYou Mastercard and the AT&T cards — gets exactly 70% of it.

That 70% is the most consequential fact about this currency and it is easy to miss. A Double Cash holder transferring to Flying Blue moves 1,000 points and receives 700 miles, not 1,000. The ratio shown against each partner here is the premium rate, with the card-level rate beside it wherever we hold a record for the card.

Most partners run at 1,000 points to 1,000 miles at the premium rate. The exceptions are the ones worth knowing: Choice Privileges pays 1,500, I Prefer pays 2,000, Accor pays 500, Emirates pays 800, and Leaders Club pays 200 — currently 250 under a 25% bonus.

Transfers need a minimum of 1,000 ThankYou Points and move in 1,000-point increments. Citi says points may appear in a partner account within 24 hours, or take up to fourteen days, and that they leave the ThankYou account immediately. American AAdvantage is a recent addition: Citi became the exclusive AAdvantage card issuer on April 24, 2026.
