This figure is not ours. The Points Guy publishes a monthly valuation of every major loyalty currency, and its September 2026 table gives Flying Blue as 1.4 cents, in a row reading "Flying Blue | 1.4 (down from 1.45)". The page is linked above. Flying Blue prices awards dynamically, so unlike a fixed-chart program it cannot be valued from anything published: the award side has to be observed, signed in, one search at a time. Ryan did that. What could not be done is the other half. airfrance.com and klm.com accept an automated request's TLS handshake and then abandon it without sending a byte — every host, every method tried on 9 September 2026 — so the cash fare for the same flight on the same day could not be read to divide by. A cash price from a comparison site is a different product on a different basis, and pairing one against an observed award price would produce a number that looks like our other valuations and is not one. What we did see, all one way for Tuesday 20 October 2026, one adult, read 8 and 9 September 2026: thirteen award prices across five routes — Paris CDG to Amsterdam, Paris CDG to Madrid, Paris CDG to New York JFK, Amsterdam to Tokyo Narita, and Amsterdam to Johannesburg — in economy and in the Business Standard and Business Flex fare families, each with its own taxes and carrier charges. The lowest economy fare on the shortest route was 13,000 miles plus EUR 44.89; the longest, Amsterdam to Johannesburg, 42,000 miles plus EUR 187.48. Every row is in `docs/round-42/pm-sources/flying-blue-session.md`. Those are award prices, not a valuation: without the cash fare for the same seat on the same day there is nothing to divide by.
