About Amtrak Guest Rewards

Amtrak Guest Rewards is the loyalty program of Amtrak, the United States passenger railroad. You earn 2 points per dollar spent on Amtrak travel, and the class you ride adds to that: Amtrak gives a 25 percent point bonus in Business class and 50 percent in Acela First. Referring someone to the program earns 500 points.

Status is earned separately, in Tier Qualifying Points, which accrue by traveling on Amtrak within a calendar year. Select starts at 5,000 TQPs, Select Plus at 10,000 and Select Executive at 20,000. Each tier adds a bonus on the base points an Amtrak trip earns, 25, 50 and 100 percent in turn, so a Select Executive member earns double the base rate before any class-of-service bonus.

What this record does not carry is a point valuation, and that is deliberate. We have no priced redemption sample of our own for Amtrak, and a number taken from someone else is not ours to print. Until we have one, Amtrak stays off our valuations page and out of the cents-per-mile calculator rather than carrying a figure we cannot stand behind.
