One booking, two prices. Put in what the award costs in points and what the same booking costs in cash, and this works out what each point earned you.
How the number is worked out
Cash price minus the taxes and fees you pay on the award, divided by the points, in cents. The fees come off because you pay them on top of the points: an award that "saves" $400 but charges $350 in surcharges saved you $50, and a calculator that reports the $400 is telling you the airline's story rather than yours.
