An Amex Offer gives you a $75 statement credit when you spend $350 or more on Hertz rentals at corporate-owned U.S. locations. It may be targeted, so check each of your Amex cards. The end date is reported two ways: one report says October 14, 2026 and another says December 14, 2026. The date shown on the offer in your own account is the one that counts.

Deal Details

  • What you get: a one-time $75 statement credit.
  • What you spend: $350 or more with Hertz, in one rental or several, on the card you added the offer to.
  • End date: reported as October 14, 2026 in one report and December 14, 2026 in another. Check the date on your offer.
  • When the rental must be paid: by the offer's end date, which matters if you pay at return rather than at booking.
  • Where: pickup and return at participating Hertz corporate-owned locations in the U.S.

What Doesn't Count

Rentals at independently licensed Hertz locations don't count, and neither do bookings made through another website or a third party. Book on hertz.com, in the Hertz app, through Hertz U.S. phone reservations or in person at a corporate-owned location. The offer also excludes e-Toll charges, Hertz Car Sales and Rent2Buy.

How to Take Advantage

  1. Open the Amex app or your online account and check the Amex Offers on each card. Note the end date the offer shows.
  2. Add the offer to the card you'll pay with before you book.
  3. Reserve directly with Hertz at a corporate-owned U.S. location, and make sure the charges of $350 or more are paid by your offer's end date.

Why This Deal Matters

A $75 credit on $350 is a solid return on a rental you'd book anyway, and because the spend can be spread over several rentals, a couple of shorter trips can add up to the threshold. If you hold the Amex Platinum, it's also worth pairing with the Hertz status that card can get you; our article on Amex Platinum car rental status explains how to enroll.

Before you charge a rental to the card for this credit, check what rental car coverage the card gives you compared with another card you hold. Our guide to cards with travel insurance compares rental car coverage on several premium cards.

Who Should Book

Book if you have a U.S. rental coming up at a corporate-owned Hertz location and the offer appears on one of your cards. Skip it if your rental is at an independently licensed location or through a travel site. Because the two reported end dates differ, go by the date on your own offer and make sure the rental is paid by then.
