American is selling one-way award flights to Sydney from 25,000 AAdvantage miles in Main Cabin, its economy cabin. The catch is the calendar: you have to book by 11:59 p.m. CT on October 31, 2026, and you have to fly by October 31, 2026, too. Booking and travel end on the same day. If you have AAdvantage miles and can get to Sydney this month, search tonight.

Qantas is American's partner in the South Pacific, but this offer needs flights American markets and operates. American says it flies to Australia and New Zealand from its Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Los Angeles (LAX) hubs, with connections from other U.S. cities.
You pay any taxes and fees that apply. When I checked American's page on October 6, its sample one-way economy awards to Sydney from Los Angeles, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco, Phoenix, Miami, New York, Charlotte, Chicago and Philadelphia all showed 25,000 miles plus $28, for departures later in October. American says those amounts were collected within the last 24 hours and may be gone by the time you book.
American says availability is limited and mileage amounts can change. The offer can't be applied to an existing reservation or retroactively, and it can't be combined with any other offer or promotion. American can change or end it at any time without notice.
How to Take Advantage
- On aa.com, search a one-way award with miles to or from Sydney (SYD) for a date on or before October 31, 2026.
- Check that every flight on the itinerary is marketed and operated by American or American Eagle, not a codeshare.
- Book by 11:59 p.m. CT on October 31, 2026.
