Hyatt said on October 28, 2026, that its portfolio of open hotels in Canada has quadrupled since 2017. According to the company's announcement, the pipeline holds more than 40 deals, including a record 10 hotels expected to open in 2027. Hyatt says that puts it on track for its largest year of hotel openings in the country.
For World of Hyatt members, the release says the growth means more places to stay across Canada. The details below show which hotels have opened and which are coming.
What Hyatt Says Changed in Canada
The release frames the growth around owners and developers. "Our growth reflects the strength of our relationships with owners and developers, the breadth of our brands and the flexibility of our development models," said Julienne Smith, Head of Americas Growth, Hyatt.
Scott Richer, Head of Growth, Canada, said the focus is on "deepening relationships with owners and creating opportunities to grow together."
Recent Canadian Openings
Hyatt lists four recent additions and says they show it can grow its brands across different market types and travel needs:
- The Clayfield, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
- Hyatt Place Vancouver / Metrotown, in Burnaby, British Columbia
- Hyatt Regency Niagara Falls Fallsview, in Niagara Falls, Ontario
- Hyatt House Thunder Bay, in Thunder Bay, Ontario
What's Coming
Park Hyatt Vancouver
Park Hyatt Vancouver will be Canada's second Park Hyatt and the first on the West Coast, complementing Park Hyatt Toronto in the east. Hyatt calls it a significant expansion of its Luxury portfolio in Canada and describes the opening as anticipated.
Unscripted by Hyatt in Haida Gwaii
Hyatt is preparing the Canadian debut of the Unscripted by Hyatt collection through a collaboration with Haida Enterprise Corporation, the economic development arm of the Haida Nation. Two properties are named: Haida House at Tllaal (Tlell) and Ocean House at Tlaga Gawtlaas (Old Massett), both on Graham Island in Haida Gwaii, British Columbia.
"Haida House and Ocean House are distinctly Haida Gwaii, and that will remain at the heart of who we are," said Leticia Hill, CEO, Haida Enterprise Corporation. Unscripted gives independent hotels a flexible path into Hyatt's global network while they keep their own identities. We covered another Unscripted opening in our piece on Hive House in Cary.
Hyatt Select and Hyatt Studios
Hyatt is also bringing two upper-midscale brands to Canada. Hyatt Select, designed for hotel conversions, makes its Canadian debut with Hyatt Select Kingston, expected to open later in 2026 in Ontario.
In 2027, Hyatt Select Prince Albert and Hyatt Studios Prince Albert are expected to open as a dual-branded development in Saskatchewan. That will introduce Hyatt Studios, the extended-stay brand with apartment-style suites and kitchens, to Canada. Hyatt says Select is designed for secondary and tertiary markets, and both brands connect to the World of Hyatt loyalty program.
What It Means If You Collect Hyatt Points
Hyatt says the new hotels give World of Hyatt members more places to stay across the country. Check each hotel's page on hyatt.com for its award category once it's bookable.
If you're planning a stay at a new hotel, our report on Hyatt's double points rate at new hotels covers how that rate works. And if you need to move points between accounts, our guide to Hyatt's online points transfers explains the 525,000-point annual cap.

What to Watch
Hyatt says the 2027 openings are expected, so wait until a hotel takes reservations before you plan a stay around it. Hyatt Select Kingston is expected to open later in 2026. If you hold World of Hyatt points and travel in Ontario, British Columbia or Saskatchewan, check hyatt.com for new listings as they appear.
