Bilt Rent Day is Bilt's monthly promotion on the 1st of every month. On Rent Day, Bilt cardholders earn double points on everyday purchases, up to 1,000 bonus points a month, and rent and mortgage payments don't count, per Bilt's Card 2.0 program overview. Bilt also uses the 1st to release limited-time benefits such as transfer bonuses.

When Is Bilt Rent Day?

Rent Day is the 1st of every month, from 12:00 AM Eastern through 11:59 PM Pacific. Bilt's terms say the double points offer is effective March 1, 2026 through January 1, 2027.

The time that counts is when the merchant submits the charge, not just when you tap your card. Bilt's terms say "the transaction must be made and the merchant must submit charges to your credit card as having been made within the Promotional Period," and that Bilt "does not have the ability to control how a merchant submits charges."

Is Bilt Rent Day Double Points?

Yes, on everyday purchases. Each card doubles its own everyday rates, so the totals differ by card:

  • Bilt Blue: 2X points on everyday purchases (1 base point plus 1 bonus point per dollar).
  • Bilt Obsidian: 6X in the 3X category you chose, dining or grocery; 4X on travel; and 2X on other everyday purchases.
  • Bilt Palladium: 4X points on everyday purchases (2 base points plus 2 bonus points per dollar).

On the Obsidian, the category rates depend on how the merchant codes the purchase. Bilt's terms say purchases not processed under the matching Mastercard merchant category codes won't qualify for bonus points, and that Bilt decides which purchases qualify.

The 1,000-Point Monthly Cap

The most bonus points you can earn on Rent Day is 1,000 a month per Bilt Rewards account, "regardless of how much you purchase." The cap counts bonus points, not total points, and it's the same on all three cards.

Bilt gives one example: the Palladium normally earns 2X on everyday purchases, Rent Day adds another 2X, so "it would take $500 in eligible spend to reach the 1,000 bonus point maximum."

Authorized users can earn Rent Day points too. Their bonus points post to whichever Bilt Rewards account the primary cardholder's points allocation setting names, and Bilt's terms say bonus points allocated to the primary cardholder's account count toward that account's cap.

Bonus points can take up to seven days to post to your Bilt Rewards account.

Who Qualifies for Rent Day Double Points

Do you have to opt in? Bilt's Double Points Offer Terms say the offer is open to eligible Bilt Blue, Bilt Obsidian and Bilt Palladium cardholders, and they set two conditions for eligibility: you must be a primary cardholder or authorized user of a Bilt Card account in good standing, and you must have a Bilt Rewards account in good standing. The program overview describes the earning directly: "On Rent Day, Bilt cardholders earn double points on everyday purchases."

What Doesn't Earn Rent Day Points

Housing payments are out. Bilt says "Housing payments (rent and mortgage payments) are excluded from Rent Day bonus points."

Bilt's terms also exclude tax payments, third-party payment accounts, online marketplaces with multiple third-party sellers, payment services that sit between you and the merchant, and purchases made through a mobile or digital wallet, although Apple Pay transactions are expressly not excluded. ATM charges, cash advances, money orders, prepaid gift cards, balance transfers, wire transfers, fees, interest, online bets and casino gaming don't earn points at all.

Rent Day earns on net purchases, which Bilt defines as purchases minus returns or credits. And it doesn't combine with other promotions, including the Points Accelerator: Bilt "will determine and apply the applicable promotion under which you will earn the most points."

What Else Happens on Rent Day

Double points are only part of it. In Bilt's words, "On the 1st of each month, we drop limited-time benefits," naming transfer bonuses, neighborhood dining experiences and a chance to win free rent. How Rent Day Fits With Your Rent

Because Rent Day excludes housing, your rent earns through the bonus rewards option you picked for your card, not through Rent Day.

  • Housing-only rewards earn up to 1.25X points on rent and mortgage, based on how much you spend on everyday purchases in the same billing cycle. If you don't choose Flexible Bilt Cash during card onboarding, Bilt defaults you to Housing-only.
  • Flexible Bilt Cash earns 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday purchases. You can redeem $30 of Bilt Cash for 1,000 points on housing payments, up to 1X.

The Bilt Card That Earns the Most on Rent Day

The Obsidian has the highest Rent Day rate, 6X, but only in the category you chose. The Palladium earns 4X on everything eligible, and the Blue earns 2X. The annual fees are $0 for the Blue, $95 for the Obsidian and $495 for the Palladium, whose benefits include $200 of Bilt Cash a year and a $400 Bilt Travel Hotel credit paid as $200 twice a year.

Every card shares the same 1,000-point monthly cap, so Rent Day shouldn't decide which Bilt card you carry. Choose on everyday earning, benefits and how you want to earn on rent, then treat the 1st as a bonus.
