Bilt Rent Day lands on October 1, and both of its transfer bonuses are tiered. Transfer Bilt points to Hilton Honors that day and the bonus runs from 75% to 175%, set by your Bilt Rewards tier. Move them to Amtrak Guest Rewards instead and it runs 25% to 100%. Any member can spend Bilt Cash to go a tier higher on either.
The part that's easy to miss sits underneath the percentages. Any Hilton transfer, even the minimum (2,000 points for Bilt Blue members, 1,000 for everyone else), also earns instant Hilton Honors status, which Bilt says can take up to seven business days after the offer period to post. For most people that's worth more than the extra points, and it's the piece worth planning around.
Here's what each tier gets, and how to decide whether to pay for a step up.
What's on the Table, by Tier
Bilt sets both bonuses by your Bilt status tier. Hilton Honors transfers 1:1 from Bilt, and the ladder looks like this:
- Bilt Blue: 75% bonus, plus instant Hilton Silver status.
- Bilt Silver: 100% bonus, plus instant Hilton Silver status.
- Bilt Gold: 150% bonus, plus instant Hilton Gold status.
- Bilt Platinum: 175% bonus, plus instant Hilton Diamond status.
Amtrak Guest Rewards runs a similar ladder at lower numbers, and Bilt moves points there at 2:1 rather than 1:1, in 1,000-point steps with a 1,000-point minimum (2,000 for Blue members). Blue gets 25%, Silver 50%, Gold 75%, and Platinum 100%.
On each offer, no more than 100,000 Bilt points per member get the bonus. That cap, not the headline percentage, is the number that should drive what you do.
The Buy-Up, and When It Earns Its Price
Bilt lets you spend Bilt Cash to move a Rent Day transfer bonus up to the next tier. This month, Bilt's terms put the buy-up at $400 of Bilt Cash on each offer, and a Platinum member who buys up moves to Bilt's Platinum + tier: 200% at Hilton and 125% at Amtrak.
Whether that's worth it turns entirely on how many points you're moving. A step up the ladder on a small transfer is a rounding error. On a transfer sitting at the 100,000 cap it's a serious pile of Hilton points.
So the question isn't whether 200% beats 175%. It's whether you have the balance and the redemption to use the top of that cap.
Transferring 20,000 points for one specific weekend? Skip it. Clearing a six-figure Bilt balance into Hilton for a long stay? That's where the buy-up can earn its price.
The Status Grant Comes With a Clock
Instant status from this promotion runs through December 31, 2026. That's enough to matter for a holiday trip and not much beyond it.
The extension is the interesting half. Bilt Blue and Silver members holding the instant Hilton Silver can complete six qualifying nights by December 31, 2026 to move up to Gold. Bilt Gold and Platinum members need 12 qualifying nights by the same date, either to reach Diamond or to keep it. A night counts only if you check out by December 31, 2026.
Finish the challenge by December 31, 2026 and the status runs through March 2028. Twelve nights by the end of the year is a real ask. Six isn't, if you travel at all.
Bilt Blue and Silver members are quietly getting a good deal here: a smaller transfer bonus, but a realistic six-night run at Hilton Gold. Bilt Gold members have the more interesting decision. They land on instant Hilton Gold, and 12 qualifying nights by December 31 turns it into Diamond.
Whether to Transfer at All
A transfer bonus is only a bonus if you spend the points. Bilt points stay flexible until the moment you move them, and a transfer can't be reversed.
That argues for transferring against a stay you can see, not against a percentage you like. The exception is the status grant, which comes with any Hilton transfer made on October 1, even the minimum.

What to Do on October 1
Check your Bilt tier before you transfer, because the tier showing in your account at that moment sets every number above. If you're holding Bilt points with no Hilton stay in mind, transfer a small amount anyway and take the status, then work out whether the challenge is realistic for you.
