As of October 1, 2026, Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya are all-inclusive resorts. Hilton announced the switch that day and said the change takes effect "beginning today." The bigger change for families comes later: from January 10, 2027, the Waldorf becomes adults-only for registered guests 18 and older.
Conrad Tulum goes the other way. Hilton is positioning it as a multi-generational resort with a kids' club, plus an adults-only section called Ceiba Club. If you've got a stay booked at either one, or you're picking between them for a winter trip, here's what changed and what to check.
What Hilton Announced
Hilton's October 1 release moves both resorts on Mexico's Caribbean coast to all-inclusive, building on offerings Hilton says were already available at both properties. The two are pitched at different travelers. In Hilton's description, the Waldorf is for adults seeking privacy, chef-led dining and "a more intimate oceanfront pace," while Conrad Tulum is for "travelers of every generation seeking discovery and culinary variety."
The age rule is the date to remember. As of January 10, 2027, the Waldorf is adults-only for registered guests aged 18 and older. On the same date, Conrad Tulum opens Ceiba Club, an adults-only section for registered guests 18 and older inside the wider resort.
What the Waldorf Astoria Rate Includes
Hilton lists these inclusions at the Waldorf:
- 24-hour in-room dining and a tailored minibar refreshed daily.
- A dedicated Personal Concierge who coordinates dining reservations, wellness appointments, transportation, excursions and daily experiences.
- Private round-trip transfers from Cancun International Airport for eligible direct bookings.
- Eligible transient stays of four consecutive nights or longer may include one selected resort experience or destination excursion per stay. Hilton says options may vary.
The dining lineup runs through Malpeque, Chaya, JA'O and Peacock Alley, with a coffee concept, BonbonOm, listed as coming soon. The daily program is organized under Restore, Discover, Indulge, Gather and Celebrate.
What Conrad Tulum Includes
Conrad Tulum's inclusions overlap on the basics and add the family side. Hilton lists 24-hour in-room dining, refreshed minibar selections, dedicated concierge support and private round-trip transfers from Cancun and Tulum international airports for eligible direct bookings. The kids' club, MYTHOS World, is "always included," with age-specific programming.
Eligible transient stays of four consecutive nights or longer may include one selected resort experience or destination excursion per stay. Hilton's examples are a cenote experience at Vesica, a family waterpark experience at Xel-Há or a spa inclusion.
The dining lineup includes Maratea, Ukai, Kengai, Ultramar, Chiringuito Crudo and Chiringuito Leña. From January 10, 2027, Ceiba Club guests get access to Autor, Ceiba Lounge and Carbon Restaurant, Pool & Beach. Hilton calls Autor "a Michelin-recognized restaurant featuring contemporary Mexican cuisine."
If You Already Have a Reservation
This part matters if you're traveling with kids. At Conrad Tulum, Hilton says existing reservations will be honored under the plan and terms confirmed when you booked.
At the Waldorf, existing reservations are also honored as booked, with one exception: reservations that include guests under 18 and arrive on or after January 10, 2027. For those, Hilton says the resort will work with each guest to find alternative accommodation and give personalized help.
If you have a Waldorf booking with a guest under 18 arriving on or after January 10, 2027, contact the resort now rather than waiting for it to reach you.
Booking With Hilton Honors Points
For points pricing under the new plans, search your own dates on Hilton's site before you plan around a number. Check, too, whether your rate qualifies for the extras: Hilton ties the airport transfers to eligible direct bookings, and the included experience or excursion to eligible transient stays of four consecutive nights or longer. If you carry the Hilton Aspire card, our Aspire resort credit guide explains how Hilton's list of participating resorts works; check it for both properties before you count on the credit.
For comparison shopping on the same coast, IHG's Kimpton Tres Rios, Kimpton's first all-inclusive, is now open between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, and Hyatt expects to open Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort as an all-inclusive property in December.
Which One Fits Your Trip
If you're a couple who wants quiet, the Waldorf is now built for you, and after January 10, 2027, you won't share the pool with kids. If you're traveling with children, Conrad Tulum is the one of the two built for them, with a kids' club included and, from January 10, 2027, an adults-only club for the grown-ups who want an afternoon away.
Check the resort pages for current rates, and if a guest under 18 is on a Waldorf booking arriving on or after January 10, 2027, call the resort about alternatives.
