The Mindaro, a JdV by Hyatt hotel just minutes from Portland International Airport (PDX), is now open, Hyatt announced on November 6, 2026. The 90-room hotel is part of The Mindaro Campus, which also holds Hyatt House Portland Airport, a restaurant, a café and an event center.
Hyatt's release says you can enjoy World of Hyatt benefits with eligible stays at JdV by Hyatt hotels. Here's what the property offers and what sits next door.
What Hyatt Announced About the Mindaro
According to Hyatt's opening release, The Mindaro has 90 guestrooms, and each one is nearly 500 square feet. Rooms come with fine linens and locally sourced coffee and tea. Hyatt describes the design as inspired by the forests and landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
The hotel is pitched at both travelers and locals, with the campus set up as one place to stay, eat, meet and celebrate. Rick Takach, chairman and chief executive officer of Vesta Hospitality, framed it this way in the release: "Together with Hyatt House, Jawfish and The Mindaro Event Center, we've created a hospitality campus that brings together lodging, dining and events in one connected experience. We're proud to bring that vision to life."

The Mindaro Campus Next Door
Hyatt House Portland Airport is the second hotel on the campus. It has 112 guestrooms, and 73 of them are apartment-style Kitchen Suites with fully equipped kitchens, living areas and spacious bedrooms.
Jawfish Restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and also handles catering for meetings and events across the campus. The Hollow Café + Bar sits in the hotel lobby, serving Stumptown Coffee drinks and breakfast in the morning. Hyatt says that in the afternoon and evening it'll turn into a bar with regional wines, craft beers and small plates.
Jawfish also hosts Le Petit Chef, which Hyatt calls a first for Oregon. It pairs a three-dimensional animated dinner show with prix fixe menus. Reservations are required, and shows run Thursday through Sunday.
The Mindaro Event Center has more than 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space. That includes a 5,300-square-foot ballroom, the divisible Willamette Room at more than 2,000 square feet, and two dedicated boardrooms.
General manager Phillip Wilson pitched the hotel to a wide range of guests: "Whether guests are here for a quick trip, a meeting or a weekend exploring the city, we want them to feel genuinely welcomed and leave having experienced something memorable and distinctly Portland."
Who the Mindaro Suits
Hyatt pitches The Mindaro to travelers, locals and meeting planners. It's located just minutes from PDX and has a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle.
If you want a kitchen, the release describes full kitchens in the Kitchen Suites at Hyatt House Portland Airport, on the same campus.
Meeting planners get a ballroom, a divisible room, boardrooms and on-site catering in one place. Dogs are welcome, and Hyatt points to the hotel's policies page for fees. The release also says you can enjoy World of Hyatt benefits with eligible stays at JdV by Hyatt hotels.

The Bottom Line for Portland Travelers
If you're choosing between the two hotels on the campus, The Mindaro's rooms come with robes, Caravan Coffee and Smith Teamaker teas, and the 73 Kitchen Suites at Hyatt House Portland Airport have fully equipped kitchens. Le Petit Chef at Jawfish requires reservations, and shows run Thursday through Sunday. For meetings and parties, Jawfish provides on-site catering across the campus.
