For Starbucks Rewards and Delta SkyMiles, earning SkyMiles is getting easier.

On Wednesday Delta, announced adjustments to how SkyMiles members accumulate miles through their Starbucks purchases.

Starting June 12, 2024, people that have linked their Starbucks Rewards and Delta SkyMiles accounts will earn SkyMiles for Starbucks Card reloads of $25 or more. To encourage larger reloads, Delta and Starbucks are offering an incentive for $100 reloads, travelers will receive two miles per dollar spent — a substantial perk for frequent Starbucks customers.

The new earning rates for reloads are as follows:

Starbucks Reload Amount$25 to $49.99$50 to $74.99$75 to $99.99$100

A Delta spokesperson mentioned, "The majority of members with linked accounts already reload funds to their Starbucks accounts, so the program updates allow members to easily earn miles based on how they're ordering and enjoying their Starbucks favorites."

Since the collaboration between Delta and Starbucks launched in October 2022, SkyMiles members have been earning one mile for every dollar spent at Starbucks.

Despite the changes in the mileage earning structure for everyday Starbucks purchases, members can still earn double stars on Starbucks items bought on the same day they fly with Delta.

Eligible purchases include food, beverages, or merchandise at participating Starbucks locations, which can be found using the store locator. Note that alcoholic beverages and Starbucks gift card purchases do not qualify for bonus stars under this partnership.

If you haven't linked your accounts yet, head over to deltastarbucks.com or starbucksdelta.com to get started.
