Key Points

  • mycitizenM+ stops accepting new memberships and renewals starting November 17, 2026.
  • The program ends a year after the cutoff, so a renewal before November 17 is the last one possible.
  • Check your renewal date and enroll in Marriott Bonvoy if you haven't already.

mycitizenM+, the paid membership attached to citizenM hotels, stops accepting new memberships and renewals on November 17, 2026. The change comes as citizenM moves fully into Marriott Bonvoy, which has covered the brand's hotels since late November 2025.

If you pay for the mycitizenM+ membership today, your renewal date is the one to check. Here's what's changing, who it affects and what to look at before the cutoff.

What Happened to the mycitizenM+ Membership

Marriott bought citizenM in 2025 and moved quickly on the loyalty side. By late November 2025, citizenM hotels were part of Marriott Bonvoy.

The paid membership kept running alongside Bonvoy after that, so people who had paid for it still got what they paid for. That arrangement now has an end date. From November 17, 2026, it stops taking new members and renewals, and the program closes a year after that.

mycitizenM+ costs $170 a year and takes 15% off retail rates on direct citizenM bookings, and its membership page says the membership includes Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status. Once it's gone, citizenM guests will get their perks the same way guests at other Marriott brands do: through Marriott Bonvoy.

Why This Matters for Current Members

The cutoff splits current members into two groups, and you'll want to know which one you're in.

If your renewal falls before November 17, it can still go through. That renewal is the last one, since the program ends a year after the cutoff.

If your renewal date falls on or after November 17, there's no renewal to take. Your membership runs to the end of your current term and then stops.

If you've never joined, new memberships stop on November 17, so the window to decide is short.

After the program ends, your citizenM stays work like any other Marriott stay. What You Should Do Before November 17

The steps here are short, and most take a few minutes in your account.

  1. Log in to your mycitizenM+ account and find your renewal date.
  2. If the renewal falls before November 17 and you want one more year, check that the renewal goes through.
  3. Read any messages from citizenM about the transition.
  4. Enroll in Marriott Bonvoy if you haven't already.

That last step matters even if you let mycitizenM+ lapse, because Bonvoy is the program citizenM now sits inside.

Who This Change Suits and Who It Doesn't

The final year suits you if your renewal date falls before the cutoff and you stay at citizenM often enough to use the discounts. You get one more term, then a natural exit.

It doesn't suit you if your renewal date comes on or after November 17. You can't renew, so the only question is how to use the perks before your term ends. Plan your citizenM stays around that end date.

It also doesn't suit someone who's never stayed at citizenM and was only thinking about joining. With new memberships ending November 17, there's little time to decide, and the program itself is on its way out.

What Changes and by When

On November 17, 2026, mycitizenM+ stops selling new memberships and stops renewing existing ones. The program ends a year after the cutoff. If your renewal comes later, your membership ends with your current term.

Your next step is to check your renewal date today, make sure the renewal goes through if your date falls before the cutoff and you want one more year, and make sure you have a Marriott Bonvoy account.
