JetBlue's premium push is continuing. In its third-quarter results on October 26, JetBlue said it has put BlueFirst, its new domestic first-class cabin, on sale on more than 30 routes, with the first flights on December 8 between Boston and Fort Lauderdale.
What JetBlue Says It's Adding
BlueFirst is the main item. JetBlue says it launched sales across more than 30 routes, with initial service beginning December 8 between Boston and Fort Lauderdale and additional routes launching in phases. It expects the majority of its BlueFirst aircraft retrofits to be completed by the end of 2027. Our BlueFirst explainer covers the seats and fares, and our report on free BlueFirst upgrades for Mosaic and Premier covers how upgrades are meant to work.
JetBlue also says it opened BlueHouse Boston. Our report on the Boston opening and who gets in has the access details.
What the Results Say About Loyalty
JetBlue reported loyalty revenue growth of 20% year over year in the third quarter, alongside double-digit growth in co-brand spending and more than eightfold growth in Premier Card acquisitions after the card refresh. It also says TrueBlue members have redeemed more than 1.1 billion points on United flights since the Blue Sky partnership launched. Our guide to what Blue Sky members get now explains how that works, and our report on the TrueBlue changes on February 1, 2027 covers what's next for status perks.
The Financial Backdrop
JetBlue reported a net loss of $257 million for the quarter on operating revenue of $2.8 billion, up 21.1% from a year earlier. The average fuel price was $3.91 a gallon, 57% higher than in the same period last year. JetBlue ended the quarter with $2.2 billion of liquidity, including a $600 million undrawn credit facility.
