Hyatt announced on November 2, 2026 that Impression Isla Mujeres has joined The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. The 123-suite resort stays adults-only and all-inclusive, and Hyatt directs bookings to hyatt.com.
The resort opened in May 2023 under the Impression by Secrets brand. It now sits inside Hyatt's collection of independent hotels. Hyatt says it will keep operating as an adults-only, all-inclusive resort. Here's what the change involves and what to check before you plan a stay.
What Hyatt Announced About Impression Isla Mujeres
According to Hyatt's release, the resort sits at Punta Sur, the southern tip of Isla Mujeres, just off Cancún's coast. It lies near a historic sanctuary associated with Ixchel, the Maya goddess of fertility, healing and the moon.
The addition comes as The Unbound Collection by Hyatt marks its 10th anniversary in 2026. Hyatt established the collection in 2016. Tamara Lohan, Hyatt's global brand leader for luxury, said: "As we celebrate 10 years of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, I’m thrilled to welcome a resort that captures that spirit of individuality so beautifully and to introduce more guests to this very special corner of Mexico."
The resort's general manager, Mourad Essafi, said: "Joining The Unbound Collection by Hyatt recognizes the individuality we’ve sought to create, and we look forward to introducing it to more travelers while continuing the luxury all-inclusive hospitality our guests know and return for."
What the Resort Offers
All 123 suites have private terraces, and Hyatt says many overlook the Caribbean Sea or the surrounding coastline. Hyatt also lists personalized butler service. The property has infinity pools and private Mayan soaking tubs. Its wellbeing spaces were recently enhanced with yoga hammocks, wellness cabanas and TRX equipment.
Here's the food and drink lineup Hyatt lists:
- Seven restaurants serving Italian, pan-Asian, Mexican and Mediterranean menus, plus grilled dishes.
- À la carte options including fresh seafood, steak, tacos, wood-fired pizza and teppanyaki.
- Five bars and lounges, from morning coffee to swim-up drinks and rooftop cocktails.
- 17 wine labels across the restaurants and bars.
The PURE Spa by Impression Isla Mujeres offers body and facial treatments, hydrotherapy, massages and salon services, along with an island Hammam and a Floatarium. Hyatt also notes the resort received the AAA Five Diamond designation in 2026 and was named to AAA's 2026 Top 10 Hotels list.
Hyatt says the resort's naturally sheltered setting is seldom affected by sargassum, and it calls the beaches a year-round highlight. That's the brand's claim, so it's worth reading recent guest reviews for the month you plan to go.
Why the Move Matters for Hyatt Travelers
The Unbound Collection is what Hyatt calls a curated portfolio of independent hotels and resorts, each selected for distinctive character. Recent additions Hyatt names include THE BARAI HUA HIN in Thailand, Hôtel Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice, The Georgian in Santa Monica, Hotel 1000 in Seattle and The Clayfield in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Casa Duhau in Mendoza, Argentina, is expected to join in late 2027.
What doesn't change is the inclusion package. Guests will continue to get Endless Privileges, which Hyatt describes as one of its signature sets of luxury inclusions at select all-inclusive resorts. The resort's established services and amenities continue too.
The resort also supports marine conservation through its partnership with the nonprofit Saving Our Sharks Foundation. Since opening in 2023, it has dedicated a portion of room revenue to the foundation and hosted guest snorkeling and shark-tagging excursions. The partnership also supports local fishing communities and alternative livelihoods for fishers who are leaving shark fishing.

What to Check Before You Book
Start on hyatt.com, which is where Hyatt directs bookings. Search your exact dates and check that the resort shows a points rate next to the cash rate. If it does, compare the two before you choose between a redemption and a cash stay.
If you're short on points for a specific trip, our piece on the World of Hyatt points sale covers the current offer. Only buy once you've seen a points price for your dates.
This is an adults-only resort. Hyatt's Lohan calls the setting perfect for couples seeking a romantic stay. If you're traveling with kids, it isn't the resort for that trip.
The Bottom Line
If you're planning a couples trip to the Caribbean, search your dates on hyatt.com first. Check that the resort shows a points rate for those nights, then compare it with the cash rate. If you'd need to buy points to close a gap, do that only after you've seen the points price.
