The IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card from Chase has a $350 annual fee, and Chase's launch offer is 200,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 in the first three months. So is the IHG One Rewards Premier Select card worth $350? It comes down to what you'd use anyway: an Anniversary Free Night with a 60,000-point cap, automatic Platinum Elite status, and a set of credits that each come with their own rules. Some of those credits only pay off if you'd already be spending the money, so here's what Chase's page lists, which credits take the most effort, and who should pass.
Quick Answer
It's worth $350 if you'll use the Anniversary Free Night and a handful of the credits without changing how you spend. If you stay with IHG once a year and wouldn't use the credits, a cheaper IHG card is the better comparison. Chase's IHG page also lists the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card at a $150 annual fee.
The Welcome Offer and Earning
Chase's offer is 200,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. You also earn 10,000 bonus points after you add an authorized user in the first 3 months. Chase says to allow 6 to 8 weeks for the bonus to post, and Chase's IHG comparison page says to apply by November 18, 2026. You can get the offer if you don't have this card and haven't received a new cardmember bonus for it in the past 24 months.
On earning, Chase says you can get up to 28X total points per $1 at IHG hotels and resorts. That's 12X from the card, up to 10X from IHG for being a One Rewards member, and up to 6X from IHG with Platinum Elite status. Dining and all other travel, including rideshare, earn 6X, and everything else earns 3X.
The Anniversary Free Night
Each year after your card anniversary, you get a free night with a redemption cap of 60,000 points at IHG hotels worldwide. If a hotel costs more, you can add points from your IHG One Rewards account to cover the difference above the cap.
Chase's terms say the night covers one standard room and tax only. You have to redeem it and finish the stay within 12 months of the date it was issued. It isn't transferable, and resort fees and incidentals are yours to pay.
A second Anniversary Free Night with the same 60,000-point cap arrives after you spend $40,000 on the card in a calendar year. The card also offers a fourth night free when you redeem points for four consecutive nights at one IHG hotel, on standard room Reward Nights. And you can save 30% when you buy points with the card.
Platinum Elite and Diamond Status
The card gives you Platinum Elite status automatically for as long as you're a cardmember. You also get 20 Elite Night Credits when you open the account and again at the start of each calendar year, and 2 more for every $5,000 you spend. Spend $15,000 in a calendar year and Chase adds 5 more Elite Night Credits plus 20,000 bonus points.
Spend $25,000 or more on purchases in a calendar year and you qualify for Diamond Elite status through December 31 of the following year. Our IHG One Rewards guide covers what Diamond adds over Platinum.
The Credits and What Each Takes
Chase lists these credits on the card's page. Each has its own conditions, and a credit you wouldn't use is no help against the fee.
- Food and Beverage Rewards: up to $300 a year at IHG hotels, as a $75 voucher each calendar quarter. Each voucher expires at the end of its quarter, and unused value is forfeited.
- Airline credit: $200 when you spend at least $250 on flights bought directly with the airline each calendar year, through 12/31/27.
- Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS: up to $120 every four years.
- United TravelBank Cash: up to $50 a year, as $25 for January to June and $25 for July to December, after you register the card with a MileagePlus account.
- DashPass and DoorDash: a complimentary DashPass for one year, after which you're enrolled at the current monthly rate (activate by December 31, 2027), plus up to $120 in DoorDash non-restaurant promos at $10 a month through December 31, 2027, for people who sign up for Chase's DashPass membership on or after September 1, 2026.
- Instacart: up to $120 in credits at $10 a month while your Instacart+ membership is active, plus a complimentary 3-month Instacart+ membership that auto-renews at $99 a year. The benefit ends 12/31/27.
The card has no foreign transaction fees, and Chase lists trip cancellation and interruption, baggage delay, lost luggage and purchase protection. Your Guide to Benefits, provided after account opening, has the coverage details.
Who Should Get It
Get it if you stay at IHG hotels often enough to book a free night up to 60,000 points, and you'd use the quarterly food and beverage voucher at hotels you were already choosing. It also fits if you spend on flights directly with airlines and on dining, where the card earns 6X.
Skip it if you stay with IHG once a year, or if you'd have to change your habits to use the credits. Don't chase the $5,000 spend to earn the bonus if you wouldn't spend it anyway.
Conclusion
If you have IHG stays planned for the coming year and several of these credits fit how you already spend, the Premier Select card can justify $350. If not, start with a cheaper IHG card, like the one in our IHG One Rewards Credit Card review. For a business owner, our IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card review covers the business version.
