Key Points

  • Hyatt announced agreements with Saraca Hotels & Resorts on October 30, 2026, for four Hyatt-branded hotels in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
  • Saraca Hotel Lucknow and Saraca Resort & Spa Corbett will bring the Unscripted by Hyatt brand to India.
  • A Destination by Hyatt resort and Hyatt Place Jim Corbett Mohaan are planned near Jim Corbett National Park.

Hyatt is adding four hotels in North India through a deal with Saraca Hotels & Resorts, the company announced on October 30, 2026. Two existing Saraca properties, one in Lucknow and one at Corbett, will join Unscripted by Hyatt, which makes them the brand's first hotels in India. The other two are planned new hotels near Jim Corbett National Park: a Destination by Hyatt resort and a Hyatt Place.

For World of Hyatt members, the Corbett hotels matter most, since Corbett is one of India's best-known wildlife destinations. Here's what each property is, what Hyatt said about them, and what to watch before you plan a trip around points. Hyatt has been expanding in Canada too, as our look at Hyatt's growth in Canada shows.

What Hyatt and Saraca Announced

Hyatt Hotels Corporation said it signed agreements with Saraca Hotels & Resorts, founded by Mohammad Abdullah, to bring a portfolio of four Hyatt-branded hotels across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Vikas Chawla, Hyatt's President for India and Southwest Asia, framed the deal around the two destinations. "From the rich heritage and culinary traditions of Lucknow to the extraordinary natural beauty of Corbett, these destinations embody the diversity of experiences travelers are seeking today," he said in the release.

Abdullah, for his part, said, "Saraca began with a simple belief that hospitality should reflect the character, culture and spirit of the destinations it calls home." Hyatt calls the two Saraca hotels "a natural fit for the Unscripted by Hyatt brand."

Saraca Hotel Lucknow

This is a 41-room hotel on Mall Avenue in Lucknow. According to Hyatt, it's known for celebrating the city's heritage through its design, hospitality and food.

Saraca Resort & Spa Corbett

The resort sits on the edge of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, set across nine acres. It has 44 rooms and suites, wellness facilities, dining venues and what Hyatt calls nature-led experiences. Like the Lucknow hotel, it's an existing Saraca property joining Unscripted by Hyatt.

A Destination by Hyatt Resort Near Jim Corbett National Park

This one is planned, not open. Hyatt expects it to span approximately 20 acres with close to 111 accommodations, including villas, suites and residences. Planned amenities include multiple dining venues, wellness facilities, recreation and event spaces aimed at leisure travelers, families and groups. Hyatt describes the Destination by Hyatt brand as ranging from upper-upscale to luxury.

Hyatt Place Jim Corbett Mohaan

The Hyatt Place is expected to have 70 guestrooms, dining, meeting spaces, a fitness center and recreational facilities. It's pitched at both leisure and business travelers who want convenient access to the park. Hyatt's brand description says Hyatt Place hotels serve a hot breakfast every morning.

What Unscripted by Hyatt Means for World of Hyatt Members

Unscripted by Hyatt sits in Hyatt's Essentials Portfolio, alongside Hyatt Place and Hyatt House. Hyatt says the brand is designed for independent hotels with their own character, using a collection-style approach. The hotels keep their individuality while getting Hyatt's distribution and the World of Hyatt loyalty program.

That last part is what matters to you. Hyatt says Unscripted by Hyatt is built for upscale stays backed by the World of Hyatt loyalty program.

The Corbett area is the real story for points travelers. Once everything is open, members heading to the park would have a choice across three Hyatt brands: an existing resort with a spa, a larger planned resort with villas, and a more practical Hyatt Place.

What You Should Do

If you're planning a trip to Lucknow or Corbett in the near term, book the way you normally would. Before you count on earning or redeeming World of Hyatt points at either Saraca property, check Hyatt's site to confirm it's bookable there.

Before you commit, check three things on Hyatt's site:

  • The award category Hyatt assigns, which sets how many points a free night costs.
  • Whether the room type you want, such as a suite or villa, is bookable with points or only with cash.
  • Any opening promotions, since Hyatt has changed how it rewards stays at newly opened hotels (our explainer on Hyatt's approach to bonus points at new hotels covers that).

For the two planned hotels, confirm an opening date with Hyatt before you plan travel around them. Hyatt describes the figures as expected, such as "close to 111" accommodations at the resort, so treat them as plans.

What to Watch Next

Before you transfer or spend any points on a Corbett or Lucknow stay, check Hyatt's site for the property's booking details and award category. For a near-term trip, paying cash is the simpler route.
