As of October 1, 2026, Hawaii has its first Curio Collection by Hilton resort. Hilton announced the opening of Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi, Curio Collection by Hilton, a 210-room resort with 23 suites overlooking Nāwiliwili Bay and Kalapakī Beach on Kauai, near Līhuʻe Airport. It participates in Hilton Honors.
Hilton's announcement went out October 1, while the resort's own fact box says it opened in September 2026. Either way, it's taking bookings now, and Hilton is marking the debut with a package for stays of three nights or longer.
What Hilton Announced
The resort sits inside the Hōkūala Resort community. Hilton says the name means "House of the Rising Star." Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and private lānais, with views of the Pacific, Hāʻupu Mountain or the Ocean Course at Hōkūala.
Hart Howerton and AHL (formerly Architects Hawaii Limited) designed the property, with interiors by Looney & Associates. The owner is Silverwest Hotels, which Hilton says began planning the resort in 2018.
"The opening of Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi marks an exciting milestone as we introduce Curio Collection by Hilton to Hawaiʻi," said Danny Hughes, Hilton's president for the Americas.
What's on Property
Here's what Hilton lists for guests:
- Figueira, the signature restaurant, overlooks the 18th hole of the Ocean Course. Hilton calls it Kauai's only Portuguese-Hawaiian dining concept, with dishes like Portuguese Fisherman's Stew, bacalhau no forno and malasadas.
- The Wiliwili, the poolside spot, serves poke bowls, plate lunch specials and shave ice.
- A pool and fitness center on site, plus access to a full-service spa, tennis and pickleball courts within the wider Hōkūala community.
- Preferred tee times at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Ocean Course at Hōkūala, more than five miles of trails and complimentary bicycles.
- More than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space for weddings and groups.
The resort's cultural program, E Ala Ka Pilina ("The Awakening of Connection"), runs on-property activities and off-property excursions with local practitioners and nonprofits. Hilton says the Kauaʻi Museum is the first partner.
The Opening Package
To mark the debut, Hilton says the resort is offering a Kaua'i Island Escape package with 25 percent off the hotel's best available rate on stays of three nights or longer. Ask for it by name when you book, and check its terms first.
What It Means for Your Hilton Points
Hale Hōkūala participates in Hilton Honors, so a stay booked directly with Hilton earns Honors points. If you're holding points, price your dates both ways: in points, and with the 25 percent package.
If your trip falls this fall, it's also worth reading how Hilton's More Points to Play promotion works before you book, and check which hotels it covers.
Hilton puts the resort near Līhuʻe Airport and within reach of Hanalei Bay, the North Shore, Waimea Canyon and Kōkeʻe State Park, and calls it an amenity-rich base for exploration.
Where It Fits in Hilton's Hawaii Lineup
Hilton says the opening expands its presence to nearly 30 hotels across the islands, alongside names like Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikīkī Beach Resort, Ka Laʻi Waikīkī Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Waikoloa Village and Grand Wailea Maui, A Waldorf Astoria Resort. Hilton describes Curio Collection as a portfolio of more than 200 individually remarkable hotels worldwide. This is the first in Hawaii.
Hilton also just moved Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum to all-inclusive.
The Bottom Line
If you're planning a Kauai trip, price your dates both ways, in points and with the 25 percent Kaua'i Island Escape package, and read the package terms before you book.
