Hilton Honors' fall promotion, More Points to Play, pays 3,000 bonus points per stay at Hilton's luxury, lifestyle and resort hotels and 1,000 bonus points per stay everywhere else in the portfolio. You have to register first, and the stay has to be completed between October 15 and December 31, 2026. There's no cap on how many times you can earn it.

Registration is open now, on Hilton's promotion page, even though the stay window doesn't start until October 15. The bonus is paid per stay, not per night, and that one detail decides how much this is worth to you.

How More Points to Play works

Here's how Hilton lays it out in the terms on its More Points to Play page, read on September 23, 2026:

  • 3,000 bonus points for each stay at a property on Hilton's luxury, lifestyle and resort list. Hilton's page puts that list at "1,000+ luxury, lifestyle, resort, or all-inclusive hotels."
  • 1,000 bonus points for each stay at any other Hilton property.
  • Stay window: stays completed October 15 through December 31, 2026.
  • No limit: "There is no limit to the total number of Bonus Points that may be earned during the promotion period with this offer."

The luxury, lifestyle and resort list is its own page, and it's long. It includes Waldorf Astoria, Conrad and LXR hotels, Curio and Tapestry Collection properties, Canopy hotels and AutoCamp sites. If you're not sure which tier a hotel falls into, search Hilton's eligible property list for its exact name before you book.

Hilton's FAQ gives its own example: two nights at a luxury, lifestyle or resort property at $100 a night earns 2,000 base points plus 3,000 bonus points, for 5,000 points total. The same two nights at any other Hilton earns 2,000 base points plus 1,000 bonus points.

How to register, and the deadline that matters

  1. Go to Hilton's More Points to Play page. The terms give the short address as HiltonHonors.com/MorePointstoPlay.
  2. Log in with your Hilton Honors account and register. If you're not a member, the same page lets you join and register in one step.
  3. Book and complete your stay by December 31, 2026.

The deadline that matters is your checkout. Hilton's FAQ says "only members registered prior to check-out will receive Bonus Points," and the terms say to register "prior to completing a stay within the promotion period." Stays you finish before registering don't count, so do it now while you're thinking about it. You can register before you've booked anything.

Reservations you already hold do count. The FAQ says "Regardless of when a reservation was booked," registered members with nights in the promotion period get the bonus.

The exclusions

These all come straight from Hilton's terms and FAQ:

  • The stay has to end in the window. If you check in before October 15 and check out on or after it, you're covered. If you check in during the window but check out after December 31, 2026, Hilton says you won't get the bonus.
  • Not every rate qualifies. The FAQ sends you to the Hilton Honors Terms and Conditions for ineligible rates. Those terms exclude third-party website bookings, travel agency discount rates, and wholesale or tour operator packages from the definition of a stay.
  • Groups are out. The offer "is not valid for groups and cannot be combined with other select offers."
  • No status help. "Bonus Points do not count toward elite tier qualification."
  • Be patient. Hilton says to allow six to eight weeks after the stay for the points to post.

Two details work in your favor. Award stays count: asked whether reward stays earn the bonus, the FAQ answers "Yes, as long as the stay is within the promotion period." And you can register for other Hilton promotions at the same time, "unless stated otherwise in the Terms and Conditions of other select promotions."

Why the per-stay rule matters

The Hilton Honors terms define a stay as "the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether a guest checks out and checks back in again." So checking out and back in at the same hotel doesn't create a second stay. Switching hotels does.

That means a one-night stay earns the same bonus as a week at the same property. Say you've got a four-night trip and your plans work just as well split across two hotels in the same city: that's two stays, and at two properties on the luxury, lifestyle and resort list, it's 3,000 bonus points each. I wouldn't reshape a vacation around it, but if you were already thinking about a split stay, this tips it.

The award stay rule is the sleeper here. If you're burning points on a resort night in November or December anyway, register first, and if the hotel is on the eligible list you'll earn 3,000 points back on the stay.

Stacking it with a Hilton card

Hilton's worked examples say they "don't include Elite Tier Point Bonuses or Hilton Honors Credit Card holder Bonus Points," so what you'd earn with status or a Hilton card sits outside those figures. If you're thinking about opening one before a winter trip, our rundown of the current Hilton Amex card offers has all four welcome bonuses and their end date.

What to do now

Register today, before any stay you have coming up between now and New Year's Eve. Then check your hotels against Hilton's eligible property list: if two hotels in the same city look about the same, the one on the list pays 3,000 bonus points instead of 1,000. Remember that the stay has to end by December 31, 2026, and that the bonus won't move you toward elite status.
