As of October 1, 2026, Delta is adding nonstop flights between Salt Lake City and Flagstaff, Arizona (FLG), starting June 7, 2027. The route runs twice daily, year-round, on SkyWest's CRJ-550 as Delta Connection.

Delta announced the route on October 1 and pitches Flagstaff as a gateway to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. If you live in the Salt Lake City area, or connect there from elsewhere on Delta's network, it's a new way into northern Arizona.

The Route

Here's what Delta's announcement says:

  • Start date: June 7, 2027.
  • Frequency: twice daily, year-round.
  • Aircraft: the CRJ-550, flown by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines, in what Delta calls a premium configuration designed for an elevated regional experience.
  • Where it gets you: Delta puts Sedona's red rocks about 50 minutes from Flagstaff and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon about 90 minutes away.

Delta also points to Flagstaff's historic downtown, its year-round outdoor recreation and some of the country's best stargazing.

Why This Matters

The value is in the connections. From Salt Lake City, Delta says it runs 270 peak-day departures to more than 100 destinations, including Amsterdam, London, Paris and Seoul, and operates more flights from the airport than all other carriers combined.

The route joins two other Salt Lake City additions Delta has announced recently: Santa Rosa/Sonoma County (STS), launching Oct. 6, and Monterey (MRY), launching Dec. 19. Monterey also gets new Delta service from Los Angeles, which we covered in Delta's LAX expansion.

The Salt Lake City Sky Clubs

Delta has two Sky Clubs at Salt Lake City. One of them, in Concourse B, opened in 2025 at nearly 34,000 square feet. Delta says it's the second-largest Sky Club in its network, holds up to 600 guests, and has panoramic airfield views and a wrap-around premium bar.

What You Should Do

  1. Search your dates on delta.com. The route starts June 7, 2027.
  2. Plan the drive. Sedona and the Grand Canyon's South Rim are road trips from Flagstaff, at about 50 and 90 minutes by Delta's count, so price a rental car with the flight.
  3. Compare miles and cash. On a short regional route, check the SkyMiles price against the cash fare for your dates before you decide which to use.

The Bottom Line

From June 7, 2027, the route gives Utah travelers a nonstop to the Sedona and Grand Canyon area, and the rest of Delta's network a connection to it through Salt Lake City. Price your dates in cash and in miles on delta.com.
