Beginning January 1, 2027, Chase Travel will add more than 10,000 vacation homes to The Edit, its handpicked collection of hotels and resorts. The homes will sit alongside more than 1,500 luxury hotels and resorts, and Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Reserve for Business and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers will be able to put their annual Edit credit toward them. Chase announced the expansion in a Chase Travel release that also carried its annual 27 Trips to Take in 2027 list.

For anyone eyeing Chase The Edit vacation homes, the fine print matters as much as the inventory. Chase says home benefits will need a four-night minimum stay, while the annual credit will need a prepaid stay of at least two nights. Here's what's being added, how the credit works on each card, and who the homes suit.

What Chase Is Adding to The Edit

Chase says the homes are curated by Plum Guide, which uses more than 150 criteria covering comfort, design and location. In its section of the release, Plum Guide says only the top 3% of homes in each destination make the cut, and that every home is vetted by experts.

Once the homes arrive, eligible cardmembers who book one through The Edit will get a $150 in-stay credit for services the home offers, such as massages, a private chef or airport pick-up. They'll also get early check-in and late checkout when available.

Sapphire Reserve cardmembers will get one more layer: access to Reserve Travel Designers, who Chase says are specially trained to support vacation homes in The Edit. They'll match cardmembers with a home and provide concierge service before, during and after the stay. Chase says the homes will come with the convenience of booking directly through Chase Travel and the flexibility to use Ultimate Rewards points.

If you carry a Freedom, Chase Ink or Sapphire Preferred card instead, you aren't shut out of rentals. Those cardmembers can book hundreds of thousands of vacation homes through Chase Travel. The Edit benefits, though, are tied to the three Reserve cards, and Chase's page for The Edit describes it as "exclusively for Reserve cardmembers."

How The Edit Credit Works on Each Card

The credit amount depends on which Reserve card you hold. From January 1, 2027, Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers will be able to put up to $500 in annual statement credits for The Edit toward the homes.

Starting January 1, 2027, Sapphire Reserve for Business cardmembers can receive up to $1,000 in annual statement credits, with a maximum of $250 per stay, available throughout the calendar year. If you share your Reserve account with family, our guide to Sapphire Reserve authorized users covers what they get.

The Fine Print on Vacation Home Benefits

These are the conditions Chase says will apply to the homes:

  • The Edit benefits for vacation homes will require a four-night minimum stay.
  • Some benefits will be subject to availability and vary by property.
  • The annual credit for stays with The Edit will require a prepaid stay of at least two nights.
  • Early check-in and late checkout will apply only when available.

That four-night rule will shape who the homes suit. A group or family planning a stay of four nights or more will fit Chase's condition for the home benefits, and a prepaid stay of at least two nights will be the condition for the annual credit.

Why Chase Is Betting on Homes

Chase's own survey data points at groups. In a survey of 4,082 U.S. travelers conducted between August 31 and September 8, 2026, 73% said they've taken a group trip tied to a milestone or special occasion. The biggest group-travel headache was finding dates that work for everyone, cited by 44%.

An earlier Chase survey, from January 2026, found 74% of Gen Z and Millennials interested in staying in a vacation home rental in the future. Chase also reported that 57% of travelers prefer to use saved points to lower the cost of a trip when prices rise.

"With travel bookings up 14% year over year, early signs at Chase Travel show that travel demand remains resilient heading into 2027," said Jason Wynn, CEO of Chase Travel. Chase says that booking figure compares Chase Travel bookings made between January 1 and September 30, 2026, with the same period in 2025.

The 27 Trips to Take in 2027

Chase Travel's editors picked the list using firsthand reporting and proprietary booking data, and grouped it into five themes. New hotels drive picks like Montreal, Ho Chi Minh City, Tashkent, Shenzhen, Guatemala and Rio de Janeiro. New routes put Costa Smeralda, Hokkaido, Malta, Zipolite, Antigua and Arusha on the list.

Familiar favorites with fresh reasons include San Francisco, Montego Bay and Huntsville, Alabama. Food and wine picks include George Town in Malaysia, Victoria in British Columbia, Burgundy, Kakheti in Georgia, Alentejo and Providence. The outdoors set covers the Alaskan Coast, Madhya Pradesh, the Zambezi Region of Namibia, Hiiumaa Island in Estonia, the White Mountains and Colorado's Front Range.

Chase says cardmembers can browse Points Boost offers on destinations from the list on Chase Travel, and the full list lives at chase.com/2027trips.

What You Should Do

If you hold a Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Reserve for Business or J.P. Morgan Reserve card and you're planning a group trip in 2027, the homes join The Edit on January 1. Once the homes arrive, plan for at least four nights if you want the home benefits, and prepay at least two nights for the stay to count toward the annual credit.

Sapphire Reserve cardmembers will be able to work with a Reserve Travel Designer to pick the home. Freedom, Ink and Sapphire Preferred cardmembers can still book rentals through Chase Travel, without The Edit benefits. Heading through the airport first?
