United previewed its new Terminal B North Concourse at George Bush Intercontinental Airport on October 21, 2026, and the concourse opens to the public on October 22. It's the centerpiece of United's $2.6 billion Terminal B Transformation Program in Houston, and it includes a United Club that United calls the largest airline club in the Americas. If you connect through Houston on United, your gate may now be in this concourse, and so may your lounge.
What Opens in the Concourse
According to United's release, the North Concourse has three levels and 765,000 square feet, with 22 mainline gates for narrow-body aircraft. United says every United flight from the concourse boards through a jet bridge. Terminal B will have 48 gates once the 26 in the South Concourse are counted, and the new building replaces facilities dating to 1969.
United also lists more than 105,000 square feet of retail and concessions. The local names include B&B Butchers & Restaurant, Rosie Cannonball, Pizaro's Pizza, Blood Bros. BBQ, Katz Coffee and Blue Bell Creameries, alongside brands such as Starbucks, Raising Cane's, Jersey Mike's and Smashburger. There's a Be Relax Spa for massages, nail care and facials, plus duty-free and specialty shops. Food delivery through the United app is planned for later in 2026.
The New United Club
The club sits on the mezzanine level and covers 54,000 square feet, with seating for 800 and panoramic views of the airfield. United's list of features:
- Outdoor terrace: 1,350 square feet.
- Food and drink: two full-service bars and two buffet stations.
- Work space: eleven private phone rooms.
United says access comes through a United Club membership, eligible United credit cards or select premium cabin tickets. Which ticket opens which lounge depends on the fare, so our guide to United Club access by fare bucket is the place to check yours. If the card route is the one you're weighing, how the United Club Card works lays out the cost and who it fits.
Other Features Worth Knowing
United lists a sensory room for travelers with autism and sensory sensitivities, located apart from the children's play area, and a soft play area for families. The concourse also has a new baggage handling system with tracking technology and a ground-level check-in area. A $16.8 million public art program adds 10 large-scale installations, including The Digital Bayou, three immersive digital experiences.
What to Do Before Your Next Connection
If you have a Houston connection coming up, check your departure gate in the United app before you land. The gate is what tells you whether your flight uses the new concourse, and the club is on its mezzanine level.
