United is adding nonstop flights between Denver and Flagstaff, Arizona (FLG), starting August 10, 2027. The route runs twice daily on the CRJ-550.
It's United's return to an airport it left in 2022, and it lands the same summer Delta starts flying to Flagstaff from Salt Lake City. If you fly United out of Denver, it's a nonstop into northern Arizona, with Sedona and the Grand Canyon a drive from the airport.
The Route
Here's what we know so far:
- Start date: August 10, 2027.
- Frequency: twice daily.
- Aircraft: the CRJ-550.
- Airports: Denver (DEN) to Flagstaff (FLG).
United last flew Denver to Flagstaff in 2022, so this brings the route back.
Why This Matters
Flagstaff gets two new routes in one summer. Delta starts its own twice-daily Salt Lake City to Flagstaff flights on June 7, 2027, which we covered in Delta's Salt Lake City to Flagstaff launch. That gives you two ways in: United through Denver and Delta through Salt Lake City.
The draw is what's near the airport. Delta's announcement puts Sedona's red rocks about 50 minutes from Flagstaff and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon about 90 minutes away.
Booking It With MileagePlus Miles
United prices awards on its own flights dynamically, as our MileagePlus guide explains, so the miles price on this route depends on your dates. Search them on united.com and compare the miles price with the cash fare before you decide which to use.
What You Should Do
- Search your dates on united.com. Flights start August 10, 2027. If your dates don't show yet, check back.
- Price both routes. If Denver or Salt Lake City works for you, compare United and Delta for your dates. Delta's route starts June 7, 2027.
- Plan the drive. Sedona and the South Rim are road trips from Flagstaff, so price a rental car with the flight.
The Bottom Line
If your Sedona or Grand Canyon trip falls after August 10, 2027, price United through Denver against Delta through Salt Lake City, and compare each cash fare with its miles price before you book. Search united.com for your dates.
