Singapore Airlines showed its next generation of first and business class seats on November 6, 2026. The new first class is headed to the Boeing 777-9 and the ultra-long-range Airbus A350-900ULR. The new business class, with closing doors, goes on the 777-9, the A350-900ULR and the long-haul A350-900.
The headline feature in both cabins is for couples. Center seats in first class, and some center seats in business class, can join into a double bed. Here's what's in each cabin, which planes get it and how the A350-900ULR's layout changes.
Which Planes Get the New Singapore Airlines Cabins
The new seats go on Singapore Airlines' Boeing 777-9s, a plane whose deliveries have been delayed, and on its 41 long-haul A350s. That A350 group includes seven A350-900ULRs, the ultra-long-range version of the jet.
First class is limited to two types: the 777-9 and the A350-900ULR.
How the A350 Seat Counts Change
The biggest layout change is on the A350-900ULR, which drops from 161 seats to 132. It gains four first class seats, and business class goes from 67 seats to 70. Premium economy shrinks from 94 seats to 58.
The standard long-haul A350-900 keeps 42 business class seats and 24 premium economy seats. Economy goes from 187 seats to 192.
The New First Class: Six Seats on the 777-9, Four on the A350-900ULR
First class is laid out 1-2-1. PriestmanGoode designed it and Collins Aerospace builds it. Each seat is 23 inches wide, or 30 inches with the armrests lowered, with 89.5 inches of pitch.
The center pair is where it gets interesting. Lower the divider and the two seats open into one shared space, and in bed mode they form a double bed measuring 80 inches long and 60 inches wide.
Each seat has a 32-inch 4K touchscreen and Bang & Olufsen wireless headphones, and Bluetooth pairing works too. Power covers wireless charging, USB-C ports and a universal AC outlet, and the 777-9 version adds a USB-A port. Storage includes a personal wardrobe, a leather-lined vanity drawer and a compartment for a cabin bag.
The New Business Class: Doors and Double Beds
Business class was designed by BMW's DesignWorks and is built by Recaro. It's a 1-2-1 layout of suites with closing doors and 50 inches of pitch. The seats turn into flat beds 79 inches long and up to 24 inches wide.
Some center seats can form a double bed once the divider between them is lowered. Screens are 4K with Bluetooth pairing, at 22 inches on the A350s and 20 inches on the 777-9.
Here's how many business class seats each plane carries:
- Boeing 777-9: 54 seats
- Long-haul A350-900: 42 seats
- A350-900ULR: 70 seats
Who These Cabins Suit
If you travel as a pair, the center seats are the draw, since center seats in first class and some in business class join into a double bed. If first class on an A350 is what you're after, only the A350-900ULR gets it.

What Changes for You
Nothing changes on your next Singapore Airlines flight yet. The first planes with the new cabins are due in 2027.
When the planes do arrive, the A350-900ULR will carry fewer seats overall and far fewer premium economy seats, while adding first class.
