The Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard no longer comes with a $99 companion fare. It now offers a one-time 50% companion discount on round-trip Main Cabin travel, plus a $100 companion discount after each account anniversary, on eligible Hawaiian and Alaska flights.
The card costs $99 a year and earns Atmos Rewards points, because Atmos Rewards replaced HawaiianMiles. It's now sold as the Hawaiian Airlines Bank of Hawaii World Elite Mastercard and is issued by Barclays Bank Delaware.
What the Card Offers Now
The card earns 3 points per dollar on eligible Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines purchases, 2 points per dollar on gas, dining and grocery stores, and 1 point per dollar on everything else. It comes with two free checked bags on eligible Hawaiian and Alaska flights and no foreign transaction fees.
The welcome offer on the card page is 60,000 points after $1,000 in purchases in the first 90 days, plus 10,000 more points after $2,000 in total purchases within 180 days. Offers change, so confirm the current one on the card page before you apply.
How the Companion Discounts Work
There are two parts. The one-time 50% discount applies to round-trip Main Cabin travel on eligible flights. After that, a $100 companion discount on round-trip Main Cabin travel on eligible Hawaiian or Alaska flights is available after each account anniversary.
The card page doesn't spell out the route rules or how the one-time discount is timed. Read the terms for fare class, booking channel and any restrictions before you count on either discount.
Where the $99 Companion Fare Went
The old fixed Companion Fare now sits on Alaska's own card, the Atmos Rewards Ascent Visa Signature. It carries a $95 annual fee, and Alaska ties the $99-plus-taxes fare to $6,000 in annual spend. Check the card's page for the current terms. Our Atmos Ascent card review covers that card in full.
Which Card Fits
Keep the Hawaiian card if you fly Hawaiian and Alaska often, check bags, and want the 3x earn on those airlines. The two free bags and the lack of foreign transaction fees do a lot of the work.
Choose the Ascent instead if you want a fixed-price companion seat and your spending clears the $6,000 trigger. If it doesn't, the Hawaiian card's discounts are easier to reach.

Hawaiian joined oneworld in April 2026, so check partner award space through Atmos Rewards when you're ready to redeem. If you want the $99 fare, apply for the Ascent. If you fly Hawaii and Alaska and want the bags, keep the Hawaiian card.
