Expedia Group has announced new and enhanced features across Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo. For anyone booking a rental, the change to know is Vrbo's Reserve Now, Pay Later. The announcement also covers two One Key perks already in place: price-drop payouts in OneKeyCash and a CLEAR+ discount.
What One Key Members Get
One Key Gold and Platinum members who book an eligible flight in the Expedia app get the difference in OneKeyCash if the price drops before departure. Expedia checks the fare automatically and pays the difference after the trip, and it says it paid members $28 million in OneKeyCash this way in 2025.
All U.S. One Key members get a discount on CLEAR+, and the discount varies by tier. Our One Key overview covers how the program works across Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo.
What Vrbo Adds
Reserve Now, Pay Later lets guests reserve eligible Vrbo homes with no money due at booking. It's aimed at group planners who need to confirm who's coming and collect contributions. Only eligible homes offer it, so check the listing before you count on it.
What Hotels.com Adds
Hotels.com is adding hotel comparisons based on what matters to you, such as location and price.
Other New Planning Tools
Expedia's planning updates include an Activity Planner for booking or saving experiences, multiroom booking, family-friendly maps and an AI-powered Property Expert that answers questions about a property and your reservation.
What This Means for You
If you hold One Key Gold or Platinum, book eligible flights in the Expedia app, since that's where Price Drop Protection applies and any fare drop comes back to you in OneKeyCash after the trip. Our article on One Key lounge passes for delayed flights covers another Gold and Platinum benefit.
