As of October 1, 2026, the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card's welcome offer is two round-trip Delta Comfort Flight Certificates plus 50,000 bonus miles after you spend $10,000 in purchases on the new card in your first 6 months. Amex lists the offer as ending November 4, 2026.
Deal Details
- The spend: $10,000 in eligible purchases within your first 6 months of card membership. Amex warns the window may be shorter, depending on when you receive the card.
- The deadline: apply by November 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. MST, per Amex's offer terms.
- The annual fee: $650.
- When it posts: Amex says miles and certificates arrive 8 to 12 weeks after you hit the $10,000.
- Eligibility: you may not get the welcome offer if you have or have had this card or a previous version of it.
How the Flight Certificates Work
Each certificate covers one round-trip Delta Comfort or Delta Main ticket on Delta or Delta Connection flights, from the U.S., Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands to the lower 48 states (not Hawaii or Alaska), Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands. The rules:
- Book at least 21 days before departure, on delta.com or the Delta app.
- Travel must be booked and fully flown by January 15, 2028.
- You pay government taxes and fees of no more than $80 on a domestic round trip, and you pay with your Reserve card.
- The Basic Card Member must be a passenger. The certificates aren't transferable.
- Certificate tickets don't earn miles or Medallion Qualification Dollars. They're eligible for Complimentary Upgrades, subject to availability, on flights where Medallion members get them.
- No stopovers, open jaws or circle trips, and no Delta Main Basic fares.
How to Take Advantage
- Check that $10,000 in 6 months fits spending you'd do anyway.
- Apply through the Delta SkyMiles Reserve offer before November 4.
- Once the certificates post, book at least 21 days out and fly both trips by January 15, 2028.
Why This Deal Matters
Say a round-trip Delta Comfort ticket on your route costs $450. Two certificates would cover two of those trips for up to $80 each in taxes and fees, with the 50,000 miles on top. If your route is cheap, value the offer mostly on the miles.
After the first year, the card has to earn its $650 fee with benefits like 15 Delta Sky Club visits each Medallion Year when flying Delta. Our Delta Reserve review covers whether that works for you, and our Companion Certificate guide explains the certificate you get each year after renewal.
Who Should Apply
This offer fits a Delta flyer who can spend $10,000 in 6 months without stretching and flies domestic routes where Comfort fares cost real money. Skip it if you don't fly Delta. The offer ends November 4, 2026.
