Delta now lets eligible Medallion members select Choice Benefits only in the Delta app, and members of the 2026 Medallion Year have until January 31, 2027 to choose. Platinum members select one benefit, Diamond members select three, and selection opens as soon as you earn status.
Two card benefits also matter for Medallion members: four One-Time Sky Club Guest Passes a year for Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders, and MQD Headstart on four Delta Amex cards. All of it comes from Delta's own pages, which we re-read on October 17, 2026.
App-Only Selection for Choice Benefits
Delta Choice Benefits let Platinum and Diamond Medallion members pick from a menu. Delta lists Upgrade Certificates, an American Express statement credit, Starbucks Rewards Stars, MQD Accelerator, Gift Medallion Status, bonus miles, Exclusive Delta Vacations savings, a Sustainable Aviation Fuel contribution, a Delta Travel Voucher and a Wheels Up private flight credit. Diamond members can also choose a Delta Sky Club membership, which uses up two or three of their selections.
To make or review your choices, log in to your SkyMiles account in the Delta app. Delta says selection is available for eligible members only in the app. For the 2026 Medallion Year, benefits must be selected by January 31, 2027, and for the 2027 Medallion Year by January 31, 2028.
Sky Club Guest Passes for Reserve Cardholders
Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card Members receive four One-Time Guest Passes per Medallion Year, and you can redeem up to two per Sky Club visit. The Medallion Year runs from February 1 through January 31. Delta issues the passes within 6 to 8 weeks of account opening, then within 6 to 8 weeks after each February 1, and they expire on January 31. Only the basic cardmember gets them, not additional cardmembers.
Sky Club Visit Allotments
Delta's Sky Club page lists 15 visits per Medallion Year for Reserve cardmembers and 10 for Platinum cardmembers, and unused visits don't roll over. After you use your visits, each additional visit costs $50 per person. Reaching $75,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year unlocks unlimited visits. Platinum visits can't be used for guest entry, and guests cost $50 per person per visit. Delta Main Basic tickets aren't eligible for Sky Club access.
MQD Headstart for Cardmembers
Through MQD Headstart, Delta SkyMiles Platinum, Platinum Business, Reserve and Reserve Business American Express Card Members receive 2,500 MQDs (Medallion Qualification Dollars) per card type each Medallion Qualification Year. Delta caps it at four deposits across eligible cards, or 10,000 MQDs a year. Only the basic cardmember gets it, and switching between Platinum and Reserve doesn't earn a second deposit.
Delta also lists MQD Boost, which earns 1 MQD for every $20 on the Platinum cards and 1 MQD for every $10 on the Reserve cards.
What the Thresholds Are
For 2027 status, Delta lists $5,000 MQDs for Silver, $10,000 for Gold, $15,000 for Platinum and $28,000 for Diamond. That status is earned from your 2026 activity and runs from the day you earn it until January 31, 2028. Check Delta's Medallion page before you plan a card or a trip around these numbers.
