The Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Legend Mastercard costs $695 a year, and several of its benefits are credits with their own rules. There's a credit for inflight and Admirals Club purchases, one for American Airlines Vacations, one for Avis and Budget rentals, Lyft credits and a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit.
This guide covers what each one pays, what counts, and how to make sure you get it. It uses American Airlines' page for the card and the card's benefit terms, both read on September 29, 2026.
The credits at a glance
- Inflight and Admirals Club purchases: up to $100 every calendar year
- American Airlines Vacations: up to $250 from January through June and up to $250 from July through December, for a maximum of $500 every calendar year
- Prepaid Avis and Budget rentals: up to $120 every calendar year
- Lyft: a $15 Lyft credit after 3 eligible rides in a calendar month, up to $180 annually
- Global Entry or TSA PreCheck: up to $120 per account every four years
Inflight and Admirals Club purchases: up to $100
What it pays. A statement credit of up to $100 every calendar year for inflight purchases and eligible Admirals Club purchases.
What counts. Eligible Admirals Club purchases include food and beverage. One Day Passes are excluded. Inflight purchases count on domestic flights marketed and operated by American Airlines, and on domestic flights marketed by American and operated as American Eagle flights by Envoy, Republic, SkyWest, PSA or Piedmont.
What doesn't. A codeshare flight booked with an American flight number but operated by another airline.
How to use it. Pay for inflight purchases on an eligible flight, or for food and drinks in the club, with the Executive card. The terms say the credit appears 8-10 weeks after the purchase posts.
The card includes an Admirals Club membership, so club food and drinks count too. Our look at the best card for Admirals Club access covers the membership itself.
American Airlines Vacations: up to $500
What it pays. Up to $250 in statement credits from January 1 through June 30, and up to $250 from July 1 through December 31, for a maximum of $500 every calendar year.
What counts. American Airlines Vacations travel packages or Experiences bought on aavacations.com. A package is a booking with two or more travel components, such as a flight, a car reservation or a hotel booking.
How to use it. Because the credit is split in two halves, the terms give up to $250 for purchases from January 1 through June 30 and up to $250 for purchases from July 1 through December 31. Plan an eligible purchase in each period if you want both. The terms also say the card must be open and in good standing when the credit is paid, which is 8-10 weeks after the purchase posts.
If you don't book packaged trips, an Experience on aavacations.com is the other eligible purchase.
Avis and Budget rentals: up to $120
What it pays. A statement credit of up to $120 every calendar year on eligible rentals with Avis or Budget.
What counts. A prepaid booking made directly on avis.com or budget.com. The credit covers time and mileage, taxes and other fees on the rental.
What doesn't. Pay-later bookings, and bookings made through travel agencies, discount travel sites, vacation clubs, tour operators, or packages sold by other merchants such as cruise lines. RV rentals and vehicles rented for hauling are excluded too.
How to use it. Book a prepaid rental directly on avis.com or budget.com and pay with the Executive card. The terms allow one credit per card account, paid 8-10 weeks after the rental posts.
The card also comes with complimentary Avis President's Club status for primary cardmembers through August 31, 2028. You enroll from your AAdvantage account, after joining Avis Preferred.
Lyft: up to $180
What it pays. The terms call this a Lyft credit, applied to your Lyft account. After you take 3 eligible rides in a calendar month paid with the Executive card, you get a $15 Lyft credit, up to $180 a year.
What counts. A completed Lyft ride requested by the primary cardmember, paid in full or in part with the card. One Lyft credit per calendar month per Lyft account.
What doesn't. Rides paid through Apple Pay, Android Pay or another digital wallet, or with a virtual card number. Pay with the card number itself.
How to use it. The credit only arrives if you take 3 rides that month, and the terms say it expires 30 days after it's applied to your Lyft account. So it's worth it if you use Lyft most months, and easy to lose if you don't.
Global Entry or TSA PreCheck: up to $120
What it pays. One statement credit of up to $120 per account every four years, for either the Global Entry or the TSA PreCheck application fee.
How to use it. Charge the application fee to the Executive card. The credit goes to the first program you apply to and pay for, whether or not you're approved, and it posts within 1-2 billing cycles.
Also worth knowing: the Omni free night
Once per calendar year, primary cardmembers can earn 100 Omni Credits, redeemable for one Free Night Award, after a qualifying stay at an Omni hotel. The stay must be two or more consecutive nights at the same hotel, booked directly with Omni in your name with your Omni loyalty number, and paid with the card.
You have to enroll in the card's Omni Champion Status benefit first, through the Citi Mobile App Benefits Hub or the number on the back of the card. The terms say to allow 14 days for enrollment, and it must be active before you check in.
Making the credits work
The inflight, American Airlines Vacations and Avis and Budget credits reset every calendar year, and the Lyft credit is earned month by month, so the practical question is which ones you'll use without changing how you travel.
- The inflight and Admirals Club credit fits if you fly American domestically or use Admirals Clubs.
- The Avis and Budget credit fits if you rent a car at least once a year and can book a prepaid rate directly.
- The Lyft credit fits only if you take 3 or more Lyft rides in most months.
- The American Airlines Vacations credit fits if you book packaged trips or Experiences in both halves of the year.
