Citi has added up to $200 a year in inKind dining credits to the Citi AAdvantage Executive card, starting October 25. The Citi AAdvantage Executive inKind credit comes as two $100 credits, one for January to June and one for July to December, and the July to December credit is available now. You add the card in the inKind app, then select the credit when you pay through the app with that card at a participating inKind restaurant, and the credit is issued. Here's how it works, where reports differ on gratuity, and what to do if you carry the card.
What Citi Added
Cardmembers can receive a $100 credit between January 1 and June 30 and another $100 between July 1 and December 31. Because we're in the second half of the year, the July to December credit is available now, and the next credit, for January to June, starts January 1.
How to Use It
- Download the inKind app and add your Citi AAdvantage Executive card as a payment method.
- Dine at a participating inKind restaurant.
- Select the credit when you pay the check through the app.
Tips are where reports differ. Some say the credit can cover gratuity, and others say the tip goes on your linked card instead. Check the app at the table before you count on it.
Where It Fits Among the Card's Credits
The card already carries several statement credits, and this dining credit is applied in the inKind app when you pay. Our guide to the Citi AAdvantage Executive statement credits explains how each of those works, and our Citi AAdvantage Executive card page has the card's current details. Our guide to how the inKind dining app works covers the app's own rules.
Conclusion
If you carry the card, add it in the inKind app and plan a restaurant meal before December 31 to use the July to December credit. If you're deciding whether to apply, start with the card page for its current fee and earn rates, since the dining credit is one benefit among several.
