Choice Hotels has agreed to buy Harvest Hosts, the RV membership that lets members park overnight at wineries, farms, breweries and other small businesses. Choice announced the deal on September 30, 2026, and it's an all-cash transaction at an enterprise value of approximately $130 million, according to Choice's press release. Choice expects it to close on October 1, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
The reason it's on a points site: one of the arguments Choice made for the deal is its loyalty base. The company says research shows Choice Privileges members over-index among RV travelers, and it sees the purchase as a way to reach those members with Harvest Hosts' network.
What Choice Announced
Choice is acquiring 100% of Harvest Hosts from Stripes, a New York-based growth equity firm, and other shareholders. Stripes invested in the company in 2021. Choice will pay for the deal with cash on hand and borrowings under its existing revolving credit facility.
Choice describes Harvest Hosts as connecting RV travelers with overnight stays at more than 11,200 host locations, including wineries, farms, breweries, museums and other attractions. Harvest Hosts also runs a group of related businesses, which Choice lists as Escapees RV Club, Boondockers Welcome (RVers who host fellow travelers on their own property for free), CampScanner (alerts for sold-out campgrounds) and Brit Stops, which covers motorhome travelers in the UK and Ireland.
Choice says Harvest Hosts will keep operating as a standalone business under its existing brand, "preserving its distinct member and host experience." Joel Holland stays on as CEO alongside the existing leadership team, and the full Harvest Hosts team becomes Choice Hotels employees at close. Choice doesn't expect the deal to have a material impact on its 2026 financial results.
"Together we offer even more stay options for both of our companies' guests," said Dom Dragisich, Choice's president and CEO, in the release.
What Choice Said About Choice Privileges Members
This is the part that matters for anyone holding Choice points. In the release, Choice says many travelers already enjoy both hotel and RV travel, and that Choice Privileges members are "particularly active in both."
Choice says it sees an opportunity to bring its "scale, commercial capabilities and loyalty reach" together with Harvest Hosts' offerings. The goals it names are to deepen engagement with existing members, introduce more travelers to Harvest Hosts and support the growth of both businesses.
Holland framed it from his side: joining Choice gives Harvest Hosts "an incredible opportunity to bring that experience to more people."
How Harvest Hosts Works
If you've never used it, Harvest Hosts is an annual membership for self-contained RVers. According to its How It Works page, members get unlimited overnight stays at 9,600+ host locations, and there's no camping fee for the first night's stay. Instead, Harvest Hosts asks you to buy something from your host as a thank you, and its homepage suggests shopping, tasting or sipping during your stay. Some hosts let you stay up to four extra nights for a fee. Harvest Hosts' homepage shows the same 9,600+ figure, while Choice's release says more than 11,200.
The plans page lists three tiers at these annual prices:
- Harvest Hosts Classic, $99 a year, for the small-business hosts (farms, wineries, breweries and distilleries, and attractions) plus campground partners.
- Harvest Hosts + Boondockers Welcome, $169 a year, which adds the private-property hosts.
- Harvest Hosts All Access, $179 a year, which adds golf course hosts and an Escapees RV Club membership.
When we checked on September 30, 2026, the site was showing a 15% sign-up discount, with the three plans listed at $84.15, $143.65 and $152.15 a year. Every plan comes with Harvest Hosts' Happy Camper Guarantee, which offers a refund within three months if you aren't happy.
What to Do If You're a Choice Privileges Member
If you're a Choice member who also travels by RV, the Harvest Hosts plans above are sold on Harvest Hosts' own site today, and Choice's release describes the business continuing under its own brand.
