As of September 23, 2026, Capital One's Venture page offers 75,000 bonus miles after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months, plus a one-time $300 Capital One Travel Stays credit for hotels and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel. The credit expires one year after you open the account.

The new Capital One Venture offer
The headline on Capital One's Venture page reads "Enjoy a $300 stays credit, plus earn 75K bonus miles." The fine print, read on September 23, 2026, spells out both halves:
- Bonus miles: 75,000 miles after $4,000 in purchases within the first 3 months from account opening. Capital One says it applies the bonus to your rewards balance within two billing cycles of qualifying.
- Stays credit: a one-time $300 credit toward "hotel and vacation rental purchases made through Capital One Travel."
- Annual fee: $95.

How does the $300 stays credit work?
The $300 stays credit is a one-time balance you spend inside Capital One Travel on hotel and vacation rental bookings, all at once or across several bookings, until it expires one year after account opening. Here are the terms, point by point:
- It lives inside Capital One Travel. The terms say the credit "will be available within Capital One Travel and can be applied to purchases at checkout."
- It covers stays. The terms name hotel and vacation rental purchases made through Capital One Travel.
- You can split it. Capital One says the credit "may be used in whole for a single purchase or in part over multiple purchases." Say you book a two-night weekend and later a single night: both bookings can draw on the same credit until it runs out.
- It expires one year after account opening. The clock starts when the account opens, so plan the stay for your first year.
- Cancellations restore it only while it's still valid. If you cancel a booking paid with the credit, Capital One restores the credit if it hasn't expired. An expired credit doesn't come back.
Two more lines from the terms: you won't earn miles on the portion of a booking the credit covers, and your Venture account has to be open and in good standing to receive or use it.
Who's eligible for the Venture welcome offer?
The terms exclude anyone who has received a new cardmember bonus on the Capital One Venture or Capital One Venture X card in the past 48 months. If you opened a Venture X in 2024 and earned its bonus, this offer isn't for you yet.
The offer terms also say the bonus is "available by applying through this page, and may not be available if you navigate away from or close this page." Check that the application page you land on shows the $300 stays credit before you submit.

Whether to apply for the Venture now
The deciding question is whether you'll book a hotel or vacation rental through Capital One Travel within a year of opening the account. If you already book stays through an online travel agency, the $300 credit is close to cash for you. If you always book direct to earn hotel points and elite night credits, the credit pushes you onto a portal you'd otherwise skip, and that's a real cost to weigh.
