As of October 1, 2026, U.S. Bank pays a $400 or $1,200 bonus for a new business checking account opened with promo code Q4DIG26 between September 28, 2026 and January 13, 2027. The $400 comes with Business Essentials and a $5,000 deposit; the $1,200 comes with the Platinum Business Checking Package and a $25,000 deposit.

Here's what each tier asks of your business, and the fees to watch while you earn it.

Deal Details

  • Business Essentials: $400 bonus with $5,000 in deposits and daily balance.
  • Platinum Business Checking: $1,200 bonus with $25,000 in deposits and daily balance.
  • Promo code: Q4DIG26. U.S. Bank's terms say it must be used when you open the account, and its offer page applies it automatically.
  • Deadline: open the account by January 13, 2027.
  • Limit: one bonus per business.

How to Earn It

  1. Open a new Business Essentials or Platinum Business Checking account with code Q4DIG26. The minimum opening deposit is $25.
  2. Deposit new money within 30 days of opening: $5,000 for Business Essentials or $25,000 for Platinum. New money has to come from outside U.S. Bank, not from another U.S. Bank product or affiliate.
  3. Keep that balance as your daily balance through the 60th day after opening.
  4. Make 6 qualifying transactions within 60 days, counted by posted date.

Qualifying transactions include debit card purchases, ACH and wire credits or debits, Zelle credits or debits, U.S. Bank mobile check deposits, electronic or paper check debits, U.S. Bank bill pay for business, and payments received through U.S. Bank Payment Solutions. Person-to-person payments, credit card transfers (including payments to U.S. Bank credit cards) and transfers between U.S. Bank accounts don't count.

One detail that can trip you up: U.S. Bank's terms say account fees may reduce the required daily balance during the qualifying period. If you're on Platinum, deposit a little more than $25,000 or make sure the monthly fee is waived.

Who Qualifies

U.S. Bank's terms exclude existing businesses that have a business checking account with U.S. Bank, or had one closed within the past 12 months. Current U.S. Bank employees aren't eligible, and the offer can't be combined with other business checking bonus offers.

Fees and Payout

  • Business Essentials: $0 monthly maintenance and software fees, unlimited digital transactions and 25 free teller and paper transactions per statement cycle.
  • Platinum Business Checking: $30 a month, waived with U.S. Bank Payment Solutions, a $25,000 average collected checking balance, or $75,000 in combined average collected business deposits and outstanding business credit balances.

The bonus lands in the new account within 30 days after the end of the month in which you meet every requirement, as long as the account is still open, has a positive balance and is still the same checking product. U.S. Bank reports it as interest on IRS Form 1099-INT, so it's taxable; our explainer on why bank bonuses are taxed covers what that means at filing time.

Which Tier Fits Your Business

Business Essentials is the easier one: $5,000 for 60 days, no monthly maintenance fee, $400. Platinum pays $1,200, but it ties up $25,000 for 60 days and carries a $30 monthly fee unless that balance (or another waiver) keeps it free. Say your business already holds $25,000 in cash it won't need for two months. Then Platinum is the tier to look at, as long as the money stays put through day 60.

The account also unlocks a higher earning rate on U.S. Bank's Business Essentials cards when you keep a qualifying balance. If you're comparing offers, see our breakdown of Chase's business checking bonus.

The U.S. Bank offer runs through January 13, 2027.
