Business Access by Marriott Bonvoy is Marriott's booking program for small and medium-sized businesses, and a business applies for it online. Once approved, the company books Marriott hotels at a discounted SMB Rate through the program's tool, with no fee to join or to book hotels. This article covers what Business Access includes, who can join and how to enroll.

What Business Access Includes

Marriott describes Business Access as an online travel booking program. For the company, it comes down to a few things:

  • The SMB Rate: A discounted rate that applies across most Marriott brands. Marriott Vacation Club and All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy are excluded. Ask Marriott what the rate saves in the cities where your people travel.
  • Locally negotiated rates: Rates you already negotiate with a hotel stay as they are. Starting in early 2026, rates tied to your company's unique rate code can be booked through the program's tool and qualify for program benefits. Generic rate codes can't.
  • Booking and policy tools: Online booking for hotels, flights, rail and rental cars, self-service changes, travel policy management, spend and trend reporting and virtual credit card payments.
  • Costs: There are no fees to join or to book hotels through the tool. Fees may apply to additional tools, services and non-hotel reservations, and the advanced expense management tools cost extra.

What Travelers Get

Employees booked through the program must be Marriott Bonvoy members, and membership is free. Once a traveler links a Bonvoy profile, they receive the SMB Rate and Marriott Bonvoy rewards and benefits. Complimentary in-room Wi-Fi and mobile check-in are part of Bonvoy membership.

Companies can also assign elite status to travelers based on the qualifying nights they book through the program each year. The program terms list the night thresholds and the status each one unlocks.

Who Can Join

Business Access is open to small and medium-sized businesses in all regions except mainland China. Marriott says companies with frequent travelers across multiple locations are likely a good fit. The program terms and conditions have the rest of the eligibility details.

How to Enroll

  1. Apply at businessaccess.marriott.com/apply.
  2. Wait for a decision. Marriott says applicants should hear back within a few business days.
  3. Once approved, the company's travel administrator invites employees to join the program.

If your team books Marriott hotels several times a month in more than one city, apply and compare the SMB Rate with what you pay now. If you only stay at one property a few times a year, your existing negotiated rate may already do the job.
