As of October 2, 2026, Southwest Airlines' Summer 2027 schedule is open for booking. Southwest published it on October 2 and calls it the airline's "largest-ever summer schedule," running from June 3, 2027, through August 2, 2027, with growth in Austin, Nashville and San Diego and "dozens of seasonal routes for summer travel."

The new dates are available for booking now at Southwest.com. Here are the new, returning and expanded routes Southwest's announcement names, with the days of the week where Southwest gives them.

Austin Routes

Southwest says it will offer up to 143 departures in Austin, with "seven seasonal routes, including five that Southwest has not previously offered." The routes in its announcement:

  • Austin to Liberia, Costa Rica: weekend service through June and July
  • Austin to Nassau, Bahamas: weekend service through June and July
  • Austin to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: weekend service through June and July
  • Austin to Portland, Oregon: returning seasonal daily service
  • Austin to Sarasota, Florida: seasonal Saturday-only service
  • Austin to Savannah, Georgia: weekend roundtrips
  • Austin to Bozeman, Montana: Saturday-only service

Nashville Routes

Southwest is scheduled to offer up to 220 trips at Nashville in Summer 2027, which it calls its largest-ever summer offering there. New seasonal routes connect Nashville with Boise, Idaho; Nassau, Bahamas; and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. Southwest is also resuming seasonal service between Nashville and Bozeman, Montana, and between Nashville and Portland, Oregon.

San Diego and the Rest of the Network

In San Diego, where Southwest plans up to 150 trips through the summer, Southwest is adding new seasonal Sunday service between San Diego and Oklahoma City. Seasonal service returns between San Diego and Bozeman, Montana; Columbus, Ohio; Milwaukee; and Pittsburgh. Year-round, Southwest is adding frequencies, with up to six trips on peak days between San Diego and Austin and three trips each weekday between San Diego and Seattle.

Elsewhere, seasonal daily service between Las Vegas and Anchorage is set to return in June 2027. Seasonal service between Bozeman and Chicago (Midway), and between Bozeman and Dallas, returns as well.

Southwest says a compressed schedule for July 4 alone will publish later. If your trip lands on the holiday, don't lock in flights until that schedule is out.

Booking These Flights With Points

The new routes are mostly seasonal, and several run only on weekends or a single day a week, so pick your dates around the days Southwest flies the route, then price the trip in points. Our guide to Southwest schedule releases covers when it pays to book on release day and when to watch fares for a few weeks first.

For comparison, Southwest's October 2026 route additions put the same focus on Austin and Nashville. Those two cities are also where construction is underway on two of the four lounges Southwest is slated to open.
