SAS EuroBonus is selling a status match to elites of many airline programs: EuroBonus Silver for €89, Gold for €199 and Diamond for €349, with no flying required. Silver gives SkyTeam Elite status, and Gold and Diamond give SkyTeam Elite Plus.
Deal Details
- The prices: Silver €89, Gold €199 and Diamond €349, charged in euros.
- The SkyTeam tier: Silver is SkyTeam Elite. Gold and Diamond are SkyTeam Elite Plus.
- The match: it's based on your status in another airline's program. Southwest's A-List matches Silver, A-List Preferred matches Gold and Companion Pass matches Diamond. Alaska's Atmos Rewards Silver matches Silver, Gold matches Gold, and Platinum or Titanium matches Diamond. American's AAdvantage Gold matches Silver, Platinum matches Gold, and Concierge Key, Executive Platinum or Platinum Pro matches Diamond. United's Premier Silver matches Silver, Premier Gold matches Gold, and Premier Platinum, 1K or Global Services matches Diamond.
- How long it lasts: through the end of your current EuroBonus membership year plus 12 months.
Who Can't Use It
Elites of SkyTeam airlines, Singapore Airlines, TAP Air Portugal and Etihad aren't eligible. Residents of China, Brazil, Argentina, Hong Kong and Taiwan aren't either. A match also can't extend a tier you already hold in EuroBonus.
How to Take Advantage
- Check the match chart on the StatusMatch.com page for SAS to see which EuroBonus tier your current status earns.
- Join EuroBonus if you aren't a member, and have your EuroBonus number and your other airline's frequent flyer number ready.
- Submit the request and pay the fee for the tier you want. SAS may ask for proof of your status.
Why This Deal Matters
SkyTeam Elite Plus is the tier our Kenya Airways status match guide covers for Delta lounge access, and SAS is another way to buy it. If you hold elite status with a US airline, our guide to airline status matches and challenges shows what each airline offers for free if you fly or spend in time, which is worth checking before you pay.
Who Should Buy
This match is for frequent flyers who already hold elite status on an eligible airline and fly SkyTeam often enough to use the perks. Skip it if you hold status with a SkyTeam airline, since those programs aren't eligible, or if you won't fly the airlines the status covers within the match period.
