Getting To The Center From The Airport

The MIA’s rental cars center is accessible from the Central Terminal by hopping on one of the MIA Mover vehicles which can be found between the Dolphin and Flamingo Garages on the third level. You can use the moving walkways on the third level to access the MIA Mover station.

What Do You Pick Up Your Rental Car at MIA?

You should check the website of the car rental company you have chosen to make sure you have all the ID and documentation you need to pick up your vehicle. However, here are some general rules for what is needed when picking up a US rental vehicle.

  • How to Get to Interstate 95 North – Exit the center onto Le Jeune Road North. Then enter the ramp onto the SR112 east to the I-95 North.
  • Getting to Interstate 95 South – Exit onto Le Jeune Road South, drive onto the ramp to SR836 heading to I-95 South.
  • Driving to Miami Beach North – Leave the center by Le Jaune Rd North. Then drive onto the ramp to SR112 East. Next merge onto the Julia Tuttle Cuaseway/ I-95 Miami Beach.
  • Heading to Miami Beach South – Head onto Le Jeune Rd South. Then use the ramp to SR836 to merge onto I-395 Miami Beach/MacArthur Causeway.
  • How to drive to Downton Miami – Exit the center by Le Jeune Rd South. Then use the ramp to SR 836 and then use the NW 8th Street/Downtown exit to get on the I-95 South. You then exit at 2C to get to Miami Avenue and Downtown.
  • Getting to Coral Gables – Leave the MIA Rental Car Center on Le Jeune Rod South and then turn onto Coral Way/Miracle Mile on the left.

Can You Travel To Mexico With Your Rental Car?

Most rental car locations and companies do not allow travel into Mexico. If you want to travel there, you may need to pay for additional insurance. Check with your rental company and ask about their cross-border policies.
