Key Points

  • Mereshi Safari Camp Serengeti, Autograph Collection has 18 elevated tented suites on 55 acres near the Fort Ikoma Gate.
  • Developer Delaware Investments expects a November 2026 opening. Its sister camp, Mapito, has the same developer and designer.
  • Reservation inquiries go through Marriott.com, so check the property page for current dates and rates before you plan.

Mereshi Safari Camp Serengeti, Autograph Collection is the next tented camp in Tanzania to join Marriott Bonvoy's Autograph Collection. It has 18 elevated suites near the Fort Ikoma Gate in the Serengeti, and its developer expects it to open in November 2026. If a Serengeti safari is on your list, it's a new place to look at.

What Happened

Delaware Investments, the developer, announced its plans for the camp in October. The release describes 18 elevated tented suites spread across 55 acres of open savannah near the Fort Ikoma Gate, in the Robanda area of Tanzania.

The release puts each suite at 95 square meters, with 50 square meters inside and 45 square meters of outdoor living space. Every suite faces east and has a private timber deck. The tents use canvas, dark greenwood furniture and locally sourced textiles.

The camp follows Mapito Safari Camp, Serengeti, Autograph Collection. The same developer is behind both, and the same firm, Dunia Design, designed them.

What the Camp Offers

Planned experiences include game drives, sundowners, fireside storytelling and Tanzanian music. The release pitches each suite's private deck for everything from early morning coffee to lantern-lit dining.

The developer also pointed to how the camp was built and staffed:

  • Jobs: the camp is expected to create about 100 permanent jobs, with more than 90% held by Tanzanians.
  • Sourcing: the developer says roughly 95% of the materials, furnishings and equipment were sourced in Tanzania.
  • Community: the developer's Give a Future Foundation supports healthcare and mentorship programs nearby, and at least five young women are expected to live and train at the camp.

Booking and Points

The release sends reservation inquiries to Marriott.com. The Points Guy reported on October 21 that Marriott's site takes bookings from January 4, 2027, and lists the opening as November 2027. Upgraded Points says points bookings aren't available yet. Check the property page for the dates it will actually take before you plan a trip, and wait for the award rate to post before you move any points.

What You Should Do

If you want to stay, open the property page on Marriott.com, search the dates you'd travel and check the cash rate for the same night. Points sitting in a Bonvoy account only help once you've priced the stay, so don't transfer anything until the award rate is posted and you've seen it.

Bottom Line

If Mereshi is on your list, settle the dates first. The developer expects to open in November 2026, but go by the dates Marriott.com will actually book, and hold your points until you've seen the award rate for those nights.
