IHG Hotels & Resorts opened Kimpton Al Rowda Doha on November 2, 2026, bringing its Kimpton brand to Qatar for the first time. The 283-key hotel has 223 rooms and suites, 60 serviced residences, five dining destinations (one still to come) and a rooftop infinity pool with West Bay views, according to IHG's announcement.
It's Kimpton's second hotel in the Middle East, after Kimpton KAFD Riyadh, and IHG says Dubai and Jeddah are next on the list. In Qatar, the new Kimpton joins IHG's InterContinental, voco, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites hotels. Here's what Kimpton Al Rowda Doha offers, and who it fits.
What Opened in Doha
The hotel takes its name from Al Rowda, which IHG describes as a fertile oasis where life blooms after rainfall. IHG pitches it as a gathering place for locals and visitors alike, a spot where a morning coffee can turn into lunch, and lunch into sunset.
The design pairs desert tones with references to Doha's modern skyline. IHG says the interiors use warm, tactile materials, layered textures and subtle nods to Bedouin craft.
"Kimpton's arrival in Qatar is an important moment for IHG in the Middle East," said Haitham Mattar, Managing Director, India, Middle East & Africa, IHG Hotels & Resorts. "They want character, connection and a genuine sense of place," he added, speaking about what travelers look for in a hotel.
General Manager Adnan Khan described the goal this way: "Our goal is to create a place where people can connect, whether they are meeting friends for dinner, enjoying an afternoon by the pool, stopping for coffee or watching the sunset from the rooftop."
Rooms, Suites and Serviced Residences
The 223 rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows and generous layouts. Bathrooms come with bathtubs, separate showers and a dedicated beauty corner, and selected rooms and suites have private balconies.
The 60 serviced residences are the part to look at if you're staying a while. They come in one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas and hotel service, including a concierge. IHG frames them as suited to both quick weekend escapes and longer stays.
Where to Eat and Drink
Five dining concepts are listed, and one of them is still to come:
- August Zang: freshly baked viennoiserie, artisanal breads and specialty coffee for the morning.
- The Oat House: open all day, with plant-based, vegan and dairy-free options on a pet-friendly terrace.
- The Surry: a bar styled on an Australian neighborhood pub, aimed at after-work and weekend crowds.
- Sprezzi: Italian favorites beside the rooftop pool, with a West Bay view.
- The Capital Grille: the hotel's American steakhouse, which will join the lineup once its renovation is complete. IHG says details on its opening will be announced later.
Pool, Spa and the Kimpton Rituals
The rooftop infinity pool looks out over West Bay. A 24-hour fitness center and Sandscapes Spa and Wellness are also on site. For events, the hotel has the Sandalwood Ballroom and a set of meeting rooms for conferences, weddings and private functions.
The hotel runs Kimpton's two daily rituals. Kimpton Kickstart serves complimentary morning beverages and light bites in the Living Room from 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. Social Hour brings guests together at The Surry from 5 to 6 p.m. for drinks and bites, a Kimpton tradition since 1981.
Bikes are available for getting around the city, and every room has its own yoga mat.
Pets Stay Free
Pets of all sizes are welcome free of charge across the hotel, including in guest rooms, residences and the lobby. They get their own menu on The Oat House terrace, and pet beds and bowls are available on request.

Who This Hotel Suits
Based on what IHG describes, Kimpton Al Rowda Doha fits a few kinds of travelers well. If you travel with a pet, the no-fee policy covering rooms, residences and the lobby is the clearest draw. If you're in Doha for more than a few nights, the residences give you a full kitchen and living space while keeping hotel service. If you're planning a wedding or conference, the Sandalwood Ballroom and meeting rooms are built for it.
It's not the pick yet if a steakhouse dinner at the hotel is part of your plan, since The Capital Grille hasn't opened.
