BlueFirst Base is the cheapest of the three fares JetBlue will sell in BlueFirst, its new domestic first class. The BlueFirst page lists no change or cancel fees and two free checked bags for BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex fares, then adds a footnote: "BlueFirst Base benefits may vary." BlueFirst itself arrives later this year.

That Base, standard and Flex pattern now runs through JetBlue's cabins, with Mint the exception. JetBlue announced the new way of shopping on July 27, 2026, and its fares page applies it to bookings made after July 29, 2026. Here's what each fare includes in Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst and Mint, from JetBlue's fares page, BlueFirst page and announcement, all read on September 30, 2026.

How JetBlue's Fares Work Now

JetBlue offers four onboard experiences: Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst and Mint. Inside each one, you pick from up to three fare options (Mint has no Base fare), and JetBlue's announcement describes them like this:

  • Base is "JetBlue's lowest available fare for customers primarily focused on price." Seat selection isn't included, and cancellations get travel credit, less any applicable fee.
  • The standard fare, which carries the experience's own name (Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst), is JetBlue's most popular option, with seat selection, no change fees and travel credit for eligible cancellations.
  • Flex is the most flexible, with seat selection, no change fees and a refund to your original form of payment for eligible cancellations.

"In two simple clicks, customers will be able to book what's right for them," said Marty St. George, JetBlue's president, in the announcement.

Main Base, Main and Main Flex

Main is what JetBlue calls its signature onboard experience, and it's where the three fares differ most. All three include a carry-on bag and a personal item, and JetBlue's table shows no checked bag included on any of them. On UK and Europe flights, the table shows a checked bag with Main and Main Flex but not Main Base. A footnote adds that the first checked bag is included on all transatlantic routes and on flights to and from CTG, GYE, MDE, PAP, GEO, BAQ and CLO, so on those routes check the booking screen before you choose Main Base.

Main Base charges for seat selection, for changes and for same-day switches, and a cancellation gets you travel credit minus a fee. Main includes seat selection and free changes, and a cancellation gets you travel credit. Main Flex adds same-day switches and standby at no charge, early boarding instead of general boarding, and a refund to your original payment when you cancel.

Base also earns fewer points. JetBlue lists 1 base TrueBlue point per $1 on Main Base and 3 on Main and Main Flex, plus an online booking bonus of 1 point per $1 on Main Base and 3 on the other two.

Travel credit from a change or cancellation is valid for 12 months from the original ticketing date. JetBlue also says a change or cancellation fee applies to any Base fare award booking. Under its fares table, JetBlue adds that you may be eligible for additional benefits based on your JetBlue loyalty status and cardholder status, so if you hold JetBlue status or a JetBlue card, check what yours adds before you rule Base in or out.

EvenMore Base, EvenMore and EvenMore Flex

EvenMore is the extra-legroom cabin. Its three fares follow Main's pattern on changes, cancellations, same-day switches and points, but every one of them includes early boarding and priority security, and on UK and Europe flights EvenMore and EvenMore Flex include a checked bag.

EvenMore Base doesn't include seat selection at booking. JetBlue says seat selection opens at check-in, and if you don't choose a seat then, one is assigned automatically.

BlueFirst Base, BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex

JetBlue's fares page has tables for Main, EvenMore and Mint. BlueFirst has its own page, which says you can book it later this fall and fly it later this year.

BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex fares have no change or cancel fees and include two free checked bags, which JetBlue says will be among the first to the carousel. The cabin comes with Group 1 boarding, dedicated overhead bins, priority check-in and access to an expedited lane to the security checkpoint at 30+ airports. The footnote on those fare benefits is the one to watch: "BlueFirst Base benefits may vary." Until JetBlue lists BlueFirst Base in its fares table, check what's included on the booking screen before you choose it over BlueFirst.

Mint and Mint Flex

Mint, the lie-flat cabin, has two fares rather than three. Both include two checked bags, seat selection, free changes, early boarding, priority security and access to BlueHouse at JFK and Boston. They differ on cancellations and same-day switches: Mint gets travel credit and charges for same-day switches, and Mint Flex refunds your original payment and includes them. Which JetBlue Fare to Book

Book Base only when the trip is fixed and you don't mind where you sit. Main Base charges to pick a seat, EvenMore Base only lets you pick one at check-in, both charge to change, and both earn fewer points per dollar. If there's any chance your plans move, the standard fare in each cabin is where free changes start.

Pay for Flex when you'd want your money back rather than a credit, or you often switch flights on the day. For BlueFirst, wait for JetBlue's fares table before booking Base. If you booked on or before July 29, 2026, JetBlue's fares page links to the previous fares for those bookings.
