Booking a Hyatt Centric hotel with World of Hyatt points works like booking any other Hyatt stay. You find the hotel, check its award category, and look for a date where the points price is low. Hyatt Centric is one of the Hyatt brands, so you search for it the same way you search for the others.
Here's how the pricing works, how to find open award nights, and what to check before you spend points. For the brand story, read our Hyatt Centric overview.
How World of Hyatt Prices a Centric Night
Hyatt sorts its hotels into eight award categories, and each Hyatt Centric hotel is assigned its own. The category sets the points price of a night, and the date moves the price within it. Since May 2026, each category has five price levels instead of three.
For a standard room, the lowest level costs 3,000 points in Category 1, and the top level costs 75,000 points in Category 8. Suites and club rooms have their own, higher charts. Hyatt also offers Points + Cash, which takes 50% of the points for a free night and charges a discounted cash rate, subject to availability.
Because Centric hotels don't share one category, a Centric in one city can cost a very different number of points than a Centric in another. Look up the hotel you want, not the brand.
Find Award Nights at Hyatt Centric Hotels
Search for the hotel or city on hyatt.com or in the Hyatt app, and check "Use Points" before you search. The Points Calendar link only shows up when you search with points. Open it to see a month of award prices and availability for the room type you pick.
Dates with no award room show as unavailable, so blackout stretches are easy to spot. Our guide to the Points Calendar and award map walks through each step.

What Hyatt Elite Members Get
World of Hyatt has three tiers you can earn each year: Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist. These are the benefits reported for them:
- Discoverist: 10% bonus points on eligible purchases and late checkout until 2:00 PM, as available.
- Explorist: 20% bonus points on eligible purchases.
- Globalist: 30% bonus points on eligible purchases, late checkout until 4:00 PM and guaranteed room availability 48 hours before arrival.
Several of these depend on availability at check-in, and Hyatt sets the details, so confirm your tier's benefits on Hyatt before you book. Our elite status guide has the requirements for each tier.
Check the Category and Rate Before You Book
Before you commit points, run through three checks:
- Open the hotel's own page on Hyatt and note its award category.
- Compare the points price with the cash rate for the same room and nights.
- Open the Points Calendar and look at nearby dates, since a night a few days earlier or later can sit at a lower price level.
If the points price looks poor next to the cash rate, pay cash and keep your points for a better night. Confirm the category and rate on Hyatt before you book.
