Delta is keeping its Medallion qualification requirements the same for status earned in 2027, a Delta spokesperson confirmed on October 22, 2026. Silver stays at $5,000 in Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs), Gold at $10,000, Platinum at $15,000 and Diamond at $28,000. It's the third year in a row Delta has left the thresholds unchanged.
Delta's own Medallion page lists the same four numbers today, for the 2027 Medallion year it shows now.
The Thresholds
Delta's page lists these MQD requirements:
- Silver Medallion: $5,000 MQDs.
- Gold Medallion: $10,000 MQDs.
- Platinum Medallion: $15,000 MQDs.
- Diamond Medallion: $28,000 MQDs.
How the Years Line Up
Delta names status by the year it's used, not the year you earn it. Its page says 2027 Status is earned by reaching the spending for the 2026 calendar year, January 1 to December 31, 2026, and is valid from the day it's earned until January 31, 2028.
The new confirmation covers the next qualification period, the 2028 Medallion year. Spending in calendar year 2027 earns status for the rest of 2027 and all of 2028. Delta's page says MQDs reset to zero on or about January 1 each year and don't roll over from year to year.
What to Do Now
If you're chasing status this year, the targets above are the ones to plan around. Delta lists MQD Headstart of $2,500 MQDs per card type each Medallion Qualification Year on the Delta SkyMiles Platinum, Platinum Business, Reserve and Reserve Business American Express cards. Our Delta Medallion updates guide covers Headstart, Choice Benefits and the Sky Club details.
