Capital One miles now move to Copa ConnectMiles, and the partnership opens with a 30% transfer bonus that runs through 11:59 p.m. ET on December 1, 2026. Copa is the Panama-based Star Alliance airline, and the reason I'm paying attention is Emirates: Copa miles book Emirates business class without carrier-imposed surcharges.

Deal Details

Capital One added Copa ConnectMiles as a transfer partner on November 2, 2026. At the standard 2:1.5 ratio, 1,000 Capital One miles become 750 Copa miles. With the 30% bonus, 1,000 become 975, which is close to even but still short of one Copa mile per Capital One mile.

The key terms are simple. The minimum transfer is 1,000 miles, in increments of 100, and the bonus applies through 11:59 p.m. ET on December 1, 2026.

How to Take Advantage

  1. Check award space before you move anything. Saver Emirates space through Copa is reported to be hard to come by.
  2. Transfer at least 1,000 Capital One miles to your Copa ConnectMiles account before 11:59 p.m. ET on December 1, 2026.
  3. Only transfer miles you know you'll use, bonus or not. Capital One miles do not expire as long as your account stays open, while Copa ConnectMiles expire after 24 months of inactivity.

Why This Deal Matters

The headline redemption is Emirates business class from the U.S. to Dubai for 80,000 miles one way, with no carrier-imposed surcharges. Taxes and fees still apply. That's the sweet spot, if you can find the seat.

Here's the catch. Rove's regular rate to Copa is one for one, which beats Capital One's bonused rate. Citi ThankYou cardholders with a Strata Elite, Strata Premier, Prestige or AT&T Access More card also get 1,000 Copa miles per 1,000 points. If you hold either currency, that's where I'd go first. We covered the Citi ThankYou and Copa ConnectMiles partnership when it launched.

Capital One still makes sense if you're flush with Capital One miles and don't have Rove or one of those Citi cards. The Capital One Venture X earns 2 miles per dollar, which is 1.5 Copa miles per dollar at the standard ratio. Capital One is also running a Flying Blue transfer bonus this month if Copa isn't your target.

The Bottom Line

This one's for Capital One collectors who want Copa or Emirates awards and don't earn Rove miles or hold a premium Citi ThankYou card. If you do hold one of those, skip this and transfer there instead. If Copa is your target, find the seat first and finish the transfer before 11:59 p.m. ET on December 1, 2026.
