The Bilt Rewards terms, last updated October 27, 2026, set out how members earn points on rent and mortgage payments made through the Bilt app or website without a Bilt Card before January 15, 2027. They also cover the Tier Status thresholds, the 18-month inactivity rule and the changes Bilt says it will give 45 days' notice of.
If you pay housing costs through Bilt, these are the rules your points run on. Here's what the document says, payment method by payment method.
Rent Payments Without a Bilt Card
How you pay decides how you earn. For rent paid by ACH, debit card, a peer-to-peer provider such as Venmo (unless a credit card funds it), a flexible payment solution such as Livble or Flex, or a credit card outside the Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover networks, Bilt pays up to 250 points per monthly rent payment.
Pay with a Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit card instead, including Venmo when a credit card funds it, and you earn 1 point per $2 spent. These terms apply to rent payments made through the Bilt app or website prior to January 15, 2027.
There are two limits. You can't earn points on rent payment fees, including fees charged by peer-to-peer providers or flexible payment solutions. And this offer can't be combined with other rent-specific benefits on Bilt that use non-Bilt credit cards. The terms name the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature 3X Rent Spend Benefit as one example.
Mortgage Payments Without a Bilt Card
Mortgage earning works on a different scale. A contractual mortgage payment made by ACH earns a flat 100 points, one made by debit card earns a flat 250 points, and one made with a Mastercard credit card that isn't a Bilt Card earns 1 point per $2 spent.
Bilt defines a contractual payment as the monthly amount due under the loan, as set by your mortgage servicer. A payment that bundles that amount with extra principal or escrow still qualifies. A payment made up only of extra principal, escrow or other amounts doesn't, no matter how many you make in a month.
If you have more than one mortgage, each eligible loan earns on its own contractual payment. Timing matters too: payments submitted more than 30 days before the due date don't earn points, and you can't earn points on mortgage payment fees.
If You Carry a Bilt Card
Members who have a Bilt Card earn points according to the Bilt Rewards Card Offer Terms. Where the Bilt Card Cardholder Agreement and the program rules conflict on earning, the terms say the Cardholder Agreement controls.
Bilt Tier Status Thresholds
Bilt offers two routes to status, and you get whichever is higher. Qualifying Points count points earned on rent, mortgage and other spending in the calendar year. Fast Track counts dollars spent. Here's where each tier sits:
- Blue: fewer than 50,000 Qualifying Points, or less than $10,000 in Fast Track spend.
- Silver: 50,000 to 124,999 points, or $10,000 to $24,999.
- Gold: 125,000 to 199,999 points, or $25,000 to $49,999.
- Platinum: at least 200,000 points, or at least $50,000.
Qualifying Points leave out bonus points, which the terms define to include referral and courtesy points, Rent Free prize points, campaign bonus points and points for member surveys. Fast Track spend counts purchases on the Bilt Card (excluding rent and mortgage), the Bilt Travel Portal, Bilt Dining restaurants with a linked card, Lyft rides with Bilt set as the active loyalty partner, SoulCycle classes booked through Bilt, and other merchants Bilt identifies.
Status lasts for the rest of the year you earn it, all of the next year, and through January 15 of the year after. Bilt's own example: earn status in 2025 and you keep it through January 15, 2027. Status can also matter for fees, since Bilt may grant a Fee Waiver on Transaction Fees in its payment center based on Tier Status.
What Bilt Must Warn You About
The terms give a clear notice rule. In Bilt's words: "We’ll give you forty-five (45) days’ prior notice of the following types of changes to the Program or this Agreement." That list covers adding or raising fees, changing the rate you earn points, limiting how many points you can earn, changing Bank Partners and canceling the program.
Redemptions are treated differently. The terms state: "We won’t provide notice when we change what you can get with your Points."
The terms define an inactive account as one with no activity for 18 months, and define expiration as the loss of your points after 18 months of account inactivity. Activity includes rent or mortgage payments made through your account, qualified purchases on a Bilt co-branded card, any redemption of Bilt Points, or entering a Bilt promotional sweepstakes.
What the Terms Mean for How You Pay
Under these terms, rent paid by ACH or debit earns up to 250 points per monthly rent payment, while a Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit card earns 1 point per $2.
Bilt sends change notices by email or by posting them on the app or website, and the terms make keeping your contact details current your responsibility. You can see your earned and unredeemed points in the Bilt app or on the website by logging in to your account.

The Date to Watch
The rent and mortgage earning rules above cover payments made before January 15, 2027. The terms promise 45 days' notice before a change to the rate you earn, though they also reserve the right to modify the program with or without notice. Changes to what your points can buy can arrive without notice.
