A targeted Amex Offer now pays a $60 statement credit after you spend $300 or more directly with Southwest Airlines by December 31, 2026. You don't need to hit $300 in one go, since one or more purchases count, but you do need to add the offer to your card before you spend.

Deal Details

The offer is a one-time $60 statement credit after $300 or more in Southwest purchases on an enrolled, eligible card. The spending has to be made directly with Southwest, and here's what counts toward it:

  • Purchases at southwest.com, in the Southwest mobile app or onboard.
  • Eligible ancillary purchases, such as seat upgrades, baggage fees and onboard purchases.
  • Flights that originate in the U.S. and are paid for in U.S. dollars.

Some Southwest spending doesn't count. The terms leave out standalone hotel bookings, car rentals, cruise bookings, gift card purchases, Southwest merchandise, travel insurance and trip protection, and Rapid Rewards points purchases. The deadline is December 31, 2026.

How to Take Advantage

  1. Open Amex Offers on your Amex card and look for the Southwest offer. It's targeted, so not every cardholder will see it.
  2. Add the offer to the card that shows it.
  3. Pay Southwest directly with that card at southwest.com, in the app or onboard, reaching $300 in total by December 31, 2026.

Why This Deal Matters

The offer covers more than the fare itself: eligible ancillary purchases, such as seat upgrades, bag fees and onboard purchases, count toward the $300.

Who Should Grab It

This suits anyone targeted who has Southwest flights to buy directly from the airline, on a trip that starts in the U.S. and is paid in U.S. dollars. Skip it if your Southwest spending is standalone hotel bookings, car rentals, cruises, gift cards or Rapid Rewards points, or if you don't book directly with Southwest, because none of that counts. Add the offer now and finish your spending by December 31, 2026.
