Amex is giving a 35% bonus on Membership Rewards points moved to Marriott Bonvoy from October 20 through December 10, 2026. Points normally transfer at 1:1, so during the bonus 1,000 Membership Rewards points become 1,350 Bonvoy points. If you've already priced a Marriott stay in points, the bonus shrinks what you need to move. If you haven't, there's no reason to transfer yet.
Deal Details
- The bonus: 35% extra on Membership Rewards points transferred to Marriott Bonvoy.
- The ratio: 1,000 Membership Rewards points to 1,350 Bonvoy points, up from the usual 1,000 to 1,000.
- The window: October 20 through December 10, 2026.
How to Take Advantage
- Find the Marriott stay first. Search the hotel and dates, and note the Bonvoy points price per night.
- Sign in to your Amex account, open Membership Rewards and choose to transfer points.
- Pick Marriott Bonvoy, enter the points you need and check that the 35% bonus shows before you submit.
- Let the points land in your Bonvoy account, then book the stay you priced in step 1.
Why This Deal Matters
The bonus is for transfers made by December 10, so it suits a stay you're ready to book, not points you're only parking.
It's also smaller than the 70% bonus Chase ran on transfers to Marriott from September 15 through October 15, which we covered in our Chase to Marriott Bonvoy article. That one pointed out the same thing worth repeating here: a transfer bonus only pays off against a booking you've already priced.
Who Should Transfer
This bonus is for Amex Membership Rewards holders with a specific Marriott booking in mind and enough time to use it. If you're still comparing hotels, price the stay across programs first, and transfer by December 10 only once Bonvoy is the one you're booking.
