Chase is running a 70% bonus on Ultimate Rewards transfers to Marriott Bonvoy through October 15, 2026. That takes the usual 1:1 rate to 1,000 points for 1,700 Bonvoy points. It's a big number, and both of the outlets that cover Chase transfer bonuses closely are telling readers to sit this one out unless they have a booking in mind.

What the offer pays

The standard Chase to Marriott rate is 1:1. For the length of the promotion it runs at 1,000:1,700. Transfers themselves are generally instant, but the bonus portion arrives separately: Marriott credits it to your account up to seven days after the transfer completes. Frequent Miler puts the deadline at 11:59 p.m. Eastern on October 15.

That gap matters if you're transferring against a specific award. The base points land first and the bonus follows, so don't plan to book the moment the transfer clears unless the base amount alone covers the night.

Why both outlets want a booking first

The problem isn't the bonus. It's what Bonvoy points are worth on the other side.

One Mile at a Time values Bonvoy points at roughly 0.7 cents each and gives the offer a straight "pass" unless you have a specific redemption you're considering. Frequent Miler puts its Reasonable Redemption Value at 0.73 cents and reaches the same place, saying a transfer tends to only make sense when you're topping up a Bonvoy balance for a particularly valuable award booking.

One Mile at a Time values Ultimate Rewards points at about 1.7 cents each, so they usually do more elsewhere, starting with Chase's airline partners such as United MileagePlus, Flying Blue and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. Don't count on Hyatt at 1:1 as the fallback, though: Chase's Sapphire Preferred page now lists World of Hyatt at 4:3, with accounts opened before June 15, 2026 keeping 1:1 through September 30, 2026. Converting Chase points to a currency both outlets value under a cent is a trade you make for a booking, not for a balance.

When it does make sense

  1. You're short on Bonvoy points for an award you've already priced and confirmed is bookable.
  2. The cash rate for that same room is high enough that the points clearly win.
  3. You can live with the bonus arriving up to a week later.

If all three are true, this is a genuinely good time to top up. Transfer only the amount the booking needs.

The bottom line

A 70% bonus is the kind of headline that moves people to transfer speculatively, and a speculative transfer into Bonvoy commits flexible points to a program both outlets value at under a cent. If you have the booking, take it before October 15. If you don't, leave the points where they are.
