Log in and check your own account before you plan around it, because Amex's public transfer page still shows the standard rate when you're logged out.

  • The bonus: 30% more Hilton Honors points, so 1,000 Membership Rewards points become 2,600 Hilton points instead of 2,000.
  • The deadline: October 14, 2026.
  • Transfer rules on Amex's Hilton listing: a 1,000-point minimum, 1,000-point increments, a 3,000,000-point maximum and an estimated transfer time of 24 hours.
  • Who sees it: check the Hilton tile in your own Membership Rewards account. If it still reads 1,000 to 2,000, don't transfer expecting the bonus.

How to Take Advantage

  1. Find the stay first. Price the night in points on Hilton's site and note the exact number you're short.
  2. Log in to Membership Rewards and open the Hilton Honors transfer tile. Confirm it shows 1,000 to 2,600.
  3. Link your Hilton Honors account if you haven't already.
  4. Transfer only what the booking needs, in 1,000-point steps, by October 14.
  5. Book once the points land. Amex estimates 24 hours for Hilton.

Why This Deal Matters

The bonus makes the transfer cheaper, but it doesn't change what a Hilton point buys. Say you're 52,000 points short of a stay. At 1,000 to 2,600, that's 20,000 Membership Rewards points. At the normal 1,000 to 2,000, it would be 26,000.

The real question is what else those 20,000 points could do. Most of Amex's airline partners take points at 1,000 to 1,000, and that's where Membership Rewards usually earn their keep.
